A moderator on their forum has posted 'Aaron Collins to middlesbrough 😞 '
And on his twitter to.

Quick look, 25yr old striker from Bristol Rovers, anywhere across the attacking forward positions. Possible replacement for Watmore, as an option off the bench but it seems odd to sign this lad, and then let Hoppe go out on loan? Im not sure.

it wouldn't be that odd, the lad is doing well at league 1 and may be ready for the step up. Hoppe has no track record.
 
Looking at his profile suggests he can play wide left or at number 10, as well as up front. Good with the ball and works hard without it.

I could see this happening actually.
 
He's doing well yeah but his record isn't amazing, L2/L1 it's ok and we're flying in the championship. It's a risk to let Watmore go and lose the impact he had off the bench - to this lad.

He's got same track record at this level as Hoppe... Hoppe plays for his country and has scored goals across the continent, not just for Morecambe and Newport.

You make it sound like Hoppe has been prolific. He isn’t.

Hoppe wouldn't get in Bristol Rovers team with Collins and Coburn there.

It's alright claiming he's an international but he's not selected when it matters. Have a look at some of the players turning out for Wales and Northern Ireland in friendlies.

I think he would...

Hoppe hasn't done much here, but he gets in the international squad, clubs at a higher level has shown faith and interest in him than they have in Collins despite the latters apparent qualities? People very quick to jump on potential new signings and look down on lads already here who haven't had a run in the side

He’s only in the international side as it’s a squad picked with fringe players. Hoppe has spent most of the season playing under 21 football. He needs a loan.

Collins has proved to be one of the best players in the league below. Championship clubs will be monitoring him and rightly so.

He scored 6 goals in 25 apps for Schalke (which isn't bad for his inexperience at the time) but only made 5 appearances at Majorca and didn't score.
So he's not been scoring across the continent. Not easy to make a direct comparison but Collins has got a good record as a wide forward over the last couple of seasons.

Jamie Vardy played for Stockbridge Halifax and Fleetwood in his first 5yrs of football, and he turned out ok, doesn't matter if Collins has played for Morecambe and Newport. he knows where the goal is.
 
Where has this actually come from?

Is there any reliable or trustworthy source (journalist?) saying Boro are in for Collins, or is it a post on a message board?
 
Tried to watch of much as Rovers as possible to keep an eye on Josh and whenever josh has scored it tends to be because of this guys clever movement and/or clever link up play.

Very good in league one, definitely deserves a chance at championship level.
