The view from one side of the high st to across the river should be amazing when there’s a festival on .
Growing up the town was always heaving on a Saturday maybe the arts can revive it .

Everley Brothers and Conway Twitty were my first two pop concerts there - 58 /59 ? Amazingly the Everleys backing band on that tour was the Crickets ( Jerry Allison, Joe B Mauvin and Sonny Curtis ?)

Saw Family there backed by America. It was my first concert, not sure but think it was a school day the day after. Family were fantastic, Chapman giving his drunken best.

My first gig too. My cousin had a coach on from Hartlepool and picked us up on the way at the Swan in Billingham. I think I was 13 at the time.

Went to see America again a decade ago, this time supporting Crosby, Stills and Nash. They were all very old.

I think it looks great and will be a huge boost to the town when there are events on. Obviously CV will have an impact on ticket sales initially, but has a good programme of events booked in already.

Marske Workingmans Club used to run a trip to the Globe for the Panto every year. In my time I saw Lonnie Doneghan Cliff Richard and the Shadows and the Seekers. I had a Crush for Judith Durham at the time. Ah how time flies when you're having fun

Was at that show. Great gig. Also ELP around the same time. Just came across the programs for those and loads of other shows about a month a go. Now can't remember where I put them.

Just a pity the current bookings are so .............lets say safe.
