AND IT's REDCAR

I'm not keen on port. Doesn't it give you gout? Still if they're giving it away for free...
Interesting fact, I saw on TV (I think it was Satuday Kitchen) a few weeks ago, you're more likely to get gout from beer than port.

Good news though

I would imagine this vindicates his airport project as it must have been a positive element to the move as well as station revamp .
Lots of Teesside peripheral villages will do well housing wise but that extra GDP from top job salaries is bound to enhance the Teesside and South Durham economy not to forget Croft etc .

From the guardian. Wouldnt let me copy anymore.
Free ports or zones are designated by the government as areas with little to no tax in order to encourage economic activity. While located geographically within a country, they essentially exist outside its borders for tax purposes.
Companies operating within free ports can benefit from deferring the payment of taxes until their products are moved elsewhere, or can avoid them altogether if they bring in goods to store or manufacture on site before exporting them again.
Plus lots of other advantages in the service sectors of the area.
Went on to say that any area granted this status would see up to 18,000 new jobs created within 4 yrs of the announcements and more in the extended area
