Angry Premier League clubs demand emergency meeting on Newcastle deal [Gruniad]

I wasn't personally having a go at him, he's done well bringing up the issue.
Two clubs in Manchester though throw millions upon millions at individuals kicking a ball yet in their city people go Hungary, £1 million would buy around 500,000 pack lunches for kids in the school holidays that's my point.
May be Man city could of paid £98 million for Grelish and then provided a million pack lunches with the other 2 million, JUST A THOUGHT
Or maybe the government could provide proper due care and diligence on ppe contracts, get the money back, and use that to provide packed lunches. It shouldn’t be down to business or humans, it should be government

And avoid paying tax. They’re all at it.
A directors loan isn’t avoiding paying tax. It’s money you’ve already earned, introduce to a business and then take it back.

that’s why directors loans can’t be used for mortgage applications, it’s not money earned, it’s money owed

Reuben was a member of the QPR board up until Covid hit. He left them when presumably they were not a fit for his aspirations. He supports QPR and joined Newcastle recently presumably becaise of his useful connections to government not of course unhindered by his £200k donation to the Tories and his chairmanship of elect Johnson to London mayor in 2012.
£800k according to the article above Cardiff! This doesn’t surprise with Johnson and the whole corrupt regime but I’m guessing nobody will care. The fact that Reuben texted “howay the lads” on news of the takeover succeeding having had no connection or support for the Club until this month sums up the pariahs that have now taken residence up there. Triple G&Ts all round.

Wonder what this all means? why deactivate ones account after a big'ol boo boo?
"....
The tweet was swiftly taken down and the Twitter account @dnmaysportsmgt appears to have been deactivated.

But the error prompted questions over who runs Rashford's account and whether any of his tweets may have been written on his behalf by his management company...."

We are so sad to have become part of such a wicked foreign regime.
For the sake of wanting to win the premier league we have sacrificed all dignity.
The deal shows no respect for basic human rights.
We are so sorry to have ruined our reputation in this way.
If we do win anything it will be a very hollow victory given the shame we feel.
How could we have become associated with such evil?
Is what I imagine the people of Saudi Arabia will be saying when they find out they have just bought Newcastle United.
The real problem is that the government has sold out to the Saudis. How can anyone expect Newcastle or any other club, for that matter, to show the moral highground when the government is in bed with the evil regime.

I'm a big fan of Rashford's campaigning but it was clear from some of 'his' earliest Tweets that he has some help. They've more or less got the voice right now but during the first school dinners row, some Tweets sounded like Lord Sumption.

Oh I don't know - seems like plain old fashioned lying to me - having said that, twitter just seems an entirely garbage filled universe of spitting degenerates, so perhaps it is just run of the mill.

The point is the ridiculous money in the PL
100 million on one man, yet people are going hungary players earning hundreds of thousands a week.
That's my point, I'm not having ago at Rashford.
Anyone who thinks one individual is worth 100 million to kick a ball and be paid hundreds of thousands a week, these people the ballons.
You did have a go at Rashford, and that was a stupid thing to do

I think the issue is Newcastle muscling in what is an 'unofficial' closed shop & with the money they'll have will be able to buy whoever they want & with only 3 domestic trophies available between 5 teams the other teams will feel threatened, my take on it anyway

I dont agree who the buyers are, as i dont agree with the world cup going ahead but it is what it is with todays clubs

I dont have a problem with Newcastle getting new owners, good luck to em, all clubs have great & passionate supporters & when success comes the fans deserve it

COCKNEY MAFIA 2.0 - to the barricades lads, boycoutt time.

The real story here, which is touched upon on the OP, is that the EPL only blocked to deal because BeIN EPL football was being illegal broadcast from Saudi Arabia. It was a t*t-for-tat after the Saudis fell-out with Qatar, where BeIN is based.

In other words, the EPL couldn't give a toss about the human rights atrocities in SA, as long as the EPL TV rights weren't compromised.

It's shameful and speaks directly to the only thing the EPL cares about - profits.
100% spot on Jonny. That’s all it was.

Can’t help but feel there wouldn’t be any fuss if it was for a London club or North West club. Much as I think the takeover stinks and it’s disgraceful that it’s been allowed, you can’t set a precedent with other clubs then chuck your toys out of the pram when it happens to a club from the North East.
Reminds me a little of the days when we were splashing the cash on Juninho and Ravanelli and generating jealousy and anger as ‘cheeky northern upstarts’.
Whilst I don't agree with the 'ethics' of the regime that now has a majority stake in Newcastle I can't help but think these 'top 6' clubs are only kicking off because they are terrified of more competition in this country for the best players.

Heck why are Arsenal and Spurs for example considered top 6 clubs anyways? They've won jack **** in years.

I totally agree with that, but then apparently all 19 other prem teams are against this, Burnley, Wolves, Norwich and all the other alsorans. As a championship fan I'm against it on ethical grounds. As a British citizen I've had a problem with our selling arms to Saudis and letting them invest in our London properties for 20 years. So my view on Newcastles new ownership is simply reflective of my broader ethics around murderous, genocidal, brutal dictators.
