Anyone think houchen will get back in?

It'll be tight but I expect him to edge it 45 percent vote overall maybe. Not enough reporting in the right media channels to sway the masses. Hope I'm wrong like

I fear he will.

Stranglehold on the local press, constant PR spin and he won with an enormous majority last time.

Embarrassingly, I voted for him last time, duped by the spin and believing that he wasn't like the other Tories.

It's all came out in the wash since.

It's hard to tell though, there's no proper polling on it, and I don't know anybody that supports him anymore but I'm probably in a bubble when it comes to politics and I'm not sure how much of the corruption and scandal has been picked up by the general public.

Only people I come across that mention him is all positive. Crazy

Yes, he'll win. He's made it very clear that anything he has announced - whether good, bad or implausible - will just disappear if he's voted out. I think too many people have bought the 'at least he's trying' and 'Labour did nowt for years and only block and complain' narrative. Turnout for these elections are usually very low compared to MP elections, so he's probably counting on that to get him over the line.

Heard some interesting stuff the other day, but daren’t post as no evidence.
Also had a relative telling me that if he is guilty (of said unsubstantiated stuff). It’s because he’s the innocent victim of nasty business men taking advantage of him. FFS 🤦 Green as grass some of my family 🙄

Sadly I think Lord Bent is a shoe in. Labours biggest enemy is apathy and most people simply don’t recognise or care what powers Bent has or care to read up on his actions to date. He has the full Tory PR machine (see question time).
I don’t mind McKewan and the Green dropping out is helpful but Bent just spouts the same garbage - the airport https://northeastbylines.co.uk/the-...-ashes-part-2-what-next-for-teesside-airport/
The thousands of jobs he has (not) created
The new hospital he has promised to deliver (even though it is not in his remit / gift.
And of course these pearls of wisdom.
Sadly despite all the evidence weighted against him he wins on PR and apathy.

You could be right.

But when Labour get in, one of the first things they should do is get the National Audit Office in to give Teessworks a proper look over - why do you think Gove refused to do this if everything was fully documented and above board?

He may win the election but long term ......he's toast.

I’d be very surprised to see any action on further investigations on the Teesworks site whether Labour gain power or not. One hopes however.

If we all vote for the only candidate that can beat him then he loses. It's that simple. I accept that some won't want to vote for the labour candidate, I also accept that in a democracy the choice shouldn't be one or the other, but we are where we are. Chris is an honest bloke, if nothing else people should at least vote for honesty.

I think he'll be odds on favourite to win. Snake or not, the PR and self promoting work. Communications is absolutely everything in the game and most people's engagement with politics extends to small tidbits.

He's sussed this and it'll be enough to give him another term
