They're not that little really though.

Croatia are smaller and got to the WC final
Wales are smaller and got to the Euro semis.
Slovenia, Bosina and Iceland are smaller and have been to world cups since Scotland last made it.

I don't feel any animosity towards them, but the plucky underdog thing is a bit cheeky.

They've been given a home tie and a format where it's almost harder to not qualify for the second round, and they're still going to bottle it.
