It's possible of course. I assumed it was taken after the arm across the face, but I don't know.

He was absolutely wrong about Mason Bennett.

He should have been sent off.

My first impression was that Watmore initiated the contact. I don't know why else he'd cut across his man in that position.

Either way, the players should know to play to the whistle, not the flag.

I seem to recall that hurting us once before when Bolo ran half the length of the pitch to score against us for Chelsea.

Yeah the direction Watmore went was totally unnatural, the ball was towards the left of the defender and he dived across the other way.
I'm not sure watching back that stopping was actually what hurt us as everyone stopped

Because it was an elbow to the face and a sending off.

The clip a few posts above is conclusive proof of that.
There wasn't even a vague doubt on replay, it was 100% an elbow to the face.

The only question is whether it was deliberate, which it certainly looks.

The clip by transitarmy?

Admittedly it looks like an elbow might be involved from that angle but it’s not the only one available.

If you watch the highlights on the Sky site you will see it’s his hand not his elbow.

The highlights on Sky Sports also show his elbow hitting him in the face.

I’m not so sure. This is a still of the Sky clip and it looks like his hand. You can see the join of the elbow which isn’t near his face.

We have had some really poor refs. this season, but poor refs are not an excuse for us been poor and not scoring goals. We need to sort the goal scoring out.
 
I think that Watmore was unquestionably not a foul and there's a good case he should have been booked for diving (he did it a few times). The Bennett hand was more questionable, I accept, but I'm still not quite convinced. But then towards the end of the first half Bennett seemed to be pulled down in the area: certainly seen those given. But none of this is the point. My lot spoiled the game and did so deliberately. If you were twelve points clear at the top of the league I suppose I could forgive that. But you're not, you're three points behind us, somehow. I think it was a pretty repulsive performance by Millwall and many of our fans think the same. To come away with a 1-1 draw without having had a F***ing shot on target is, obviously, a miscarriage of justice. For the record I thought Tavernier was back to his best, Bola was intermittently terrific (although his passing was remiss) and Watmore a real menace to our defence. Ironically I thought your defence looked a bit shaky. Shame we decided not to bother testing it all game. Wishing you all the best for the rest of the season. UTB (up to a point).
 
I think watmore may have been tripped but throwing both hands in the air made it look like a dive. Both millwall players stopped playing and didn’t appeal, then once they realised the ref was playing on, were quick to get forward
