Horrendous that we didn’t walk away with promotion considering the players we had at our disposal. Absolutely criminal. It was always going to be a tough task for us to replicate last season considering the dismantling of that side. Carrick got off the hook extremely lightly last May.
 
Poor tactics in important games, play off second leg, cup semi final, we just **** about side to side for 90 mins waiting for mistakes hardly ever take a game to someone, first 45 mins of nearly every game this year have been atrocious
 
I absolutely agree with this. When you watch us struggling as we did today it just serves to emphasise what a glorious opportunity was missed last season. I've been supporting Boro for over 50 years so I've seen a fair few disappointments in that time. For me that was one of the biggest. It would have moved us forward significantly even if we came straight back down we would be in a much stronger position financially to go again. How many years before we get another opportunity as good?

After today and last week I've finally conceded that we are not making the play offs this season. I begin to wonder if I'll ever see Boro again in the top flight in my lifetime.
