Before the Norwich game I said we needed 3 pts from the next 2 games

To ease those nigling doubts and avoid a death spiral of form so to take all 6 given how in form both Norwich and QPR were is brilliant.

Now we go into our game in hand upbeat and looking a completely different side than the one that left the field after that awful stoke game.

Come on Boro

Let’s be honest with ourselves though…we robbed the Norwich game which bizarrely built enough confidence to go and do what we did yesterday
Go Figure 🤷‍♂️

And which Boro will turn up against Birmingham because they are scrapping for their lives, have been playing much better and have a couple of dangerous players to look out for in Miyoshi, stansfield and also have Pritchard, we need the same as yesterday, I think, to get anything at all from the game

Yeah I'm not one to be negative really but Norwich was horrific until we got a gift from the ref. Yesterday was much more professional, not a great performance but we did what we've needed to do for a while which is get stuck in, do the basics right and hope you can pinch a win.

We're not exactly rejuvenated but at least we've eased the pressure.

I don’t get that as it’s the championship where any away win is a good result but 2 goals unanswered is as good as it gets in this division.
You said we look a completely different side, yesterday was an improvement for sure but I wouldn't say completely different side and Norwich was more of the same until the refs gift.

If we go to Birmingham at step it up again then I'll think we're on the right track. I think wing backs works really well away from home but after Norwich I'm not so sure at home, you surrender a lot of possession when you're expected to be on top but we'll see.

Know what you mean, 1st half I spent most of it shaking behind the sofa…I felt like we clung on for dear life with a couple of brief respites up the field and howson stopped it being a footballing onslaught.
On reflection, we were very tough and resilient in that first half with every passing minute me thinking we were gonna cave!

2nd half, I expected more of the same from them but the opposite happened, QPR lost their confidence and were a different team and Boro upped our game in contrast to QPR.
I would’ve took a draw at half time-honestly !

Too many posters assuming Norwich with 11 men would have run out easy winners, not the case at all, you see plenty of teams go hard at us for the first 30 minutes try to score, blow themselves out then sit back hoping to survive.

Nobody knows what would have happened, even allowing for 10 men the fall off in the Norwich performance will have been alarming for their supporters.

Plus they lost an attacking player not a defender so they could have stayed tight.

They put 5 past stoke so as you say a huge win for us.

I think people are missing an important point from the Norwich game. Our set-up was the same as yesterday but we were playing a better team. Those following the match thread willr ecall I backed boro to win after we went 1 down. I did that because I didn't think we were nearly as bad as we had been and I could see us playing our way into the game.

This is what happened yesterday, albeit, we didn't concede a goal. We weren't great in the first 30 minutes but looked reasonably solid. We then played our way in to the game.

We cannot know whether the same would have happened against Norwich, of course, but I thought it very well may have.

Although QPR had the better of the first half, I always felt we kept them at arms length pretty successfully, did they get a shot from inside our box?

Anyway second half, different story we sniffed them out almost entirely as a threat and beat them in all areas

We’ve pretty much snuffed out the chance of getting dragged into it now. No wsy do 3 of the bottom 5 go 1.5pts/game while we lose all our remaining 10 games.

there is an outside chance we could start to pressure the play off spots, maybe 10% chance right now, that’ll be over if we don’t win Tuesday and we will be back to preparing for next season again

Obviously it's hypothetical and would never happen but how would we have got on this season without a single injury.
I think you could easily add 15 points to our total,I know other clubs get injuries but ours have been the worst I've ever seen this season.

It will be nice to have something to keep playing for even if we ultimately fail to make the playoffs. Keeps the fans and players engaged.

I think we’re safe now as it’s not only points now at this time of the season it’s games as well and as it stands we’re 12 pts clear and add GD into that it’s 4 or really 5 games it would take to catch us let alone over take us and that is not picking up a point either

We would be in the play-offs, you would have to assume.

There is an argument, I think nano made, that the injuries haven't effected us because our first 11 are as mediocre as our second 11. I don't agree that the injuries haven't effected us. We played several games without a striker, we have missed Jones for several games andLenihan and Smith have been missed. You then add in the inability to rotate and keep sharp the players that you do have available, then yes we would have had more points.

Yeah and no way so many teams will score that many points to over take
