Could be a number of things really. Our form has been dire since Jones has been injured. Crooks and Rodgers were by all accounts two very well liked and big characters in the dressing room and their departures could have dropped morale. A big factor for for me all season has been the absence of Lenihan not only is he a real leader but his passing is excellent. The amount of times he last season he was able pick out Hackney or Akpom having received the initial pass from the goal kick was definitely a contributing factor to our success

Putting jones back in the team sparked our revival earlier in the season, no surprise he’s out again and we have nothing going forwards.

Losing Morgan Rogers not exactly helped

That for me has been the biggest factor. I think most fans for whatever reason completely underestimate how important he'd become to us. Eight goals or assists in the last couple of months he played for us, no-one else is getting close to that. No one else close to the amount of chances he created for us.
I also think it's affected the morale of the rest of the squad.
Our change in form from the point Villa started sniffing around him has been remarkable.

Carrick, at the moment is the biggest problem we have. He has to find a way to get the best out of the fit players he has.

I don't think anyone believes Ayling or Thomas should be playing.

I can forgive Barlasser given we have limitations in midfield given our 2 regulars in there are injured.

Carrick has put a team out for weeks now, that if we go behind, we look beaten. That is down to coaching.

The inability to cover for injuries shows that the squad itself isn’t that great unfortunately
That's where the choice comes in. We have a very good first XI but we can't afford a very good second XI, and there's not much coming through the academy.

We could go for the big squad of mediocrity that we had not so long ago.

You've missed coburn off. We don't have someone to hold the ball up top. We don't have anyone with pace to get in behind. You need at least one of those two. Otherwise the opposition will press really high up the pitch and you'll struggle to hold the ball upfront.

Without Coburn our from is literally worse than Rotherham, with him literally better than Leicester. That's not an exaggeration.

I can’t argue with any of that mate - but either option still means our overall squad isn’t that good, meaning outside of an 11 we are a pretty knackered

None of the options given. Poor signings... Poor loan deals, Poor performances against so called poor teams, Poor tactics using players who cannot play the system correctly, No leaders in the team, No pace in the team...I could go on...

But the squad can be good enough to go up, we weren't miles away from the squads Burnley, Luton and Sheff Utd had last year. They didn't have great depth.
