You have misread it. Cup receipts were 2.7m down on the previous year. This is due to us being knocked out in both cups in the first games we played in last season. The previous season we had a decent run in the FA Cup including big paydays at Manchester United away and both Tottenham and Chelsea at home.
 
Amazing what a quiet transfer window this has been. Perhaps now the legislators have finally bared their teeth?
