Boro move to Digital Ticketing šŸŽŸļø

If the club prohibited me from letting my dad/mam use my ticket on weekends I canā€™t make it (given I live 120 miles away, which isnā€™t even that far compared to some fans) then Iā€™m sure me (and plenty of others) wouldnā€™t buy one in the future.

This will not be the agenda. Many clubs actually allow you to sell your tickets on stubhub etc when you canā€™t make it, and thatā€™s all QR code based. My uncle does it at Spurs and a colleague does it at Chelsea.

There needs to be! We probably miss over 1/3 of the games due to holidays, but they are always taken by friends and family (unlike under Pulis, when we couldnā€™t shift them).
Agree with the idea though, always concerned Iā€™ll forget the season cards one dayā€¦

Would it cut down on concession abuse?
 
Also at City they have this, you can just screenshot your season card and send it to a friend if you canā€™t go.

This probably would mean it doesnā€™t cut down on concession abuse.
 
I'm aware that Man Utd/Leeds have a similar system now, where you need to become a member to actually get the ticket.

This costs money iirc Ā£30 for a season, where you don't get anything other than the ability to attend matches. I hope we don't end up going down this route, otherwise it could seriously affect walk ups.

But everything should just save to Apple wallet which takes seconds to access. Canā€™t see how using cash, accessing cards etc wonā€™t slow things down

The club must be one of the few not to actually use the technology available. Minus football it must be 5/6 years since I have used a paper ticket, and 99% of general purchases/tickets etc will just be done through the Apple wallet
 
As you know we have been pressing for a reintroduction of a membership scheme at Boro - but it would give discount on tickets purchased.
 
So what happens when these emails with details get sent to people's junk šŸ˜‚. Atleast it's only new season ticket holders imagine this is like 4000. Shouldn't cause too much stress. Imagine if all goes well from next summer we all move digitally

But do you really think that is the position that the club will take?!? Not a chance! They will actively encourage those to participate but won't ban paying customers who don't engage.
 
Having a season ticket and going to the match is all about the experience for me. I still miss the red book season tickets and have all my old ones under the bed. I can accept the new season ticket cards, but moving to digital would be disappointing in my eyes.

It certainly reads like that's going to be the situation from the article.

Mandatory for new buyers, will be phased in for everyone else throughout the 2023/24 season.

Which makes it sound like the 2024/25 season would be digital season cards only.
