Boro tried hard not to let Tav go [Gazette]

Money is important to players but its rarely said how much so publicly.

Money is a important obvioiusly because what you can buy with it, but it is important because its measures your worth and thus your status. Evidence players getting quite upset when they find out a player team member is say earning £150k/week and they only earn £120k/week and they believe they are just as useful to the team. This shows the pecking order which is quite a sensitve area to many males in particular.

My guess is Bournemouth have offered more money or bigger contract than Forest to Tav.

I am sure Tav would have stayed at the Boro if we were promoted last year, even with our dealings this Summer its allways going to be at least a 70% we would not be promoted. Say if we have signed 2 strikers with the Spence money I still think the EPL now option would have been paramount - the post match Preston reaction was a bit of a clue. I still hoped he would give it another season.

its the money sure, but PL gives the player a chance to move on, he will dream of a move to a higher PL club and bmouth will give him that chance, good luck to the lad, hope we can invest the money wisely.

I'm seeing 15 million figures on a couple of news outlets..... anyone aware of what the fee was ? Has it been officially announced

if his heart or head were elsewhere then better off without him. Harsh realities of being a championship Team. Players come and go. The club remains as the one constant. Players have the power now and money does talk.

Big fan of tav and sad too are him go. Good luck to him, have his all here and he is looking after himself and rightly so.

I guess he’s backing himself to get in the Bournemouth team and do well. If he wants a long prem. career, he’s about the right age. Only time will tell. I think that’s what his advisers have told him. If he stays here another year, he will be 24/25. I think he is generally happy here but wants to test himself even more. Can’t really blame him. Wish him the best.

Most are saying £10m + £2.5m in add ons, but yeah I've also seen £15m touted about. £12.5m + £2.5m add- ons would be a little easier to swallow. I'm assuming the add ons will be if they stay up and after he makes X number of appearances.
