Brentford v Man U

Easy to say, but you don’t everyone back story.

If you moved out the area and had a kid you’d want them to back the boro still
this is true. Everyone will have had a link, however tenuous, in their minds. There'll be a bout of amnesia kicking in for a lot who had to persuade themselves of a link.

I was not Boro born, but bred on Teesside within a household of Chelsea and West Ham born and bred. When I moved away the Boro became my lifeline to a culture that I feel is part of my essence. I support the club from where I am 'from'

The cockernees that brought me to Boro are still there, bless them. There was no way they were ever leaving once they retired. God's country, who would go back down south by choice? They both care more about the Boro than their birthright designated teams.

First rule of glory hunting club.
Pick a team that has never been sh1t.

if they've been sh1t before they will be sh1t after and if you persuade yourself that they have never been sh1t (they have) the law of entropy suggests....

It is hilarious.

The new signings already look like misfits, to add to the massive pile of misfits they already have.

I just don’t think a 5’9” centre back can cut it with the physicality of the Premier League. He’ll be targeted all day and they’ll never win another second ball with so many lightweights around him. So there’s 50 million gone. Oh, and Varane, who’s meant to be their elite centre back on mega money is now on the bench, great.

Eriksen is a wonderful player but of course he can’t defend, you have to have to have a team with energy around him to do the hard work. And they’ve already got an Eriksen, in Bruno Fernandes. And three more luxury players with Rashford, Sancho and Ronaldo. Man United don’t build teams though, they just sign whatever is flavour of the month and throw it in.

“Disinterested satellites” is the best description I’ve read so far.

Must be frustrating for Ten Hag. He knows what he wants his players to do, squad full of expensive players and they can't manage it. Even the really simple stuff like playing out from the back. They look so uncomfortable doing it. They might as well replace Ten Hag with Warnock. They've got the sort of squad that would suit his style.

Think the egos are just way too big to accept they have something to learn. They all think they've already made it just by signing for Utd. Gonna be fun watching them if it stays the way it is.

There’s only one ego to sort out on the pitch and one off it. Ron and the Glazers are the combined problem. They’re sinking further with their inflated egos.
It’s all been down hill since Ron arrived however. Bruno Fernandez in particular has crawled under his shell since he arrived, what a massive negative transformation he has had. Get rid ASAP.
What odds on them for the drop this year? I think it will happen if there’s no major change
Bruno and Ronaldo can’t play together, dunno what it is but they were beyond diabolical at the EUROs for Portugal when on the pitch together. In each other’s way all the time. Bruno got dropped after 2 games, he disappears when Ronaldo’s around.

Bear in mind Fernandes was one of the best players in the Premier League at the time too.

Apart from the fact that “They’re both Portuguese, and Ronaldo has a lot of Insta followers”, you would think that if you’ve got a player with loads of personality who is churning out more goals and assists than de Bruyne, someone in scouting might maybe look at compatibility and perhaps build a team around Fernandes? Nah.

Man-ure fans can't accept the fact they are an average prem team now. They have no devine right to be challenging for anything other than top 10.
But they still think should be challenging for titles.
It's sad.
And hilarious.

Totally agree. So why do they keep bringing in these prickly, “process” managers like Ten Hag and Mourinho and even looking at Poch. All these guys build hard working teams with underdogs and have their own system.

Bring in an Ancelotti who just smokes cigars and lets the players have fun if you’re just gonna sign galacticos.

Just a massive failure of strategy on every level.

Their defence has been poor for awhile, they sign new defenders but don’t really change how they defend that much.
Rashford and Sancho have done nothing for a whole season yet still play every week, ronaldo has spent a summer flogging himself around only to end up staying as they have nothing else.

I think the Liverpool game will tell us all we need to know if get humped then at least we know they are being honest but If as I suspect they put in a credible performance it shows that they don’t care and they are dialling it in for so the so called lesser games.

Either way it’s funny

The first two goals Man United conceded were absolutely shocking. De Gea didn’t mean for the howler for the first, so it’s hard to be too critical. He knows that was a terrible mistake. As a coach I’d be more angry at the second. The simple ball was wide to Maguire who could have passed to Shaw and they were out of the high press.

In a way, Liverpool next might be just what they need. Play as bad defensively against them and it could be brutal. Even worse than the 5 - 0 hammering last season.

Don't know how Man U are set up regarding their recruitment team, but they would be miles better off adopting the Brentford model rather than the "new manager wants former players / flavour of the month signings". Yesterdays starting line up £450m. Brentford's £55m. And that's not taking into account the players on the bench or Ronaldos £500k week salary.....

There is something rotten right throughout the club, from Glazers to the players and frankly it's funny. Especially seeing their glory hunting fans crying and moaning "demanding" instant success. Lovely 👍

Boooooo, totally forgot about MOTD last night

Just proves what a top manager Fergie was, as good as we've ever seen in this country, along with Cloughy

Man Utd will slowly revert to the team they were before 86 when Fergie took over & started building the shambles they wete back then & are slowly turning in to again & its great watching

IIRC, they went the entire season, 1984-85ish without an away win, what are the chances of going this season without a win at all, impossible I know but nice to dream 😁

Good for football 👌
