Brexit , the negatives

I love Robins, love to see them in the garden, beautiful friendly birds

When I was young my mam told me they are a loved one coming down to look over us
When I'm gardening & a robin is usually hoping around me I like to think it's my brother
They're not friendly, you have your uses and they're playing you for their advantage. They don't give a toss really and if you were small enough they'd eat you :) A bit like our Prime Minister. Except for their superior grooming.

Robins are also called the Gardener's friend, but they know there are rich pickings and fresh meat when humans dig over the ground for them. They are not as scared of humans as most other birds. As said they clear the garden of other birds including other robins.

Like your reply Red as opposed to FartingGnomes not friendly post 👍

I love Robins though

Got to credit @Erimus74 on this one. He's distracted everyone from discussing what a train his beloved brexit is.

I guess that's the last thing they've got. Deflecting us from all the things that are happening. Even HE knows it's disaster now

Is that a pinot griggio or a chardonay in your glass ?

There are absolutely zero benefits of Brexit. It's the biggest example of a country weakening itself probably ever.

A campaign based on lies, subliminal messages for years and all designed to benefit a tiny amount of already rich and powerful individuals.

if you were very rich would you want to be even richer

Human history shows that. People with power want more and the same with money. There'll be a select group of people who used their resources to creative a narrative and then pushed it for years until lots of people believed it.

One of the greatest ironies (and disgraces) is the people worst effected by ideological Tory austerity ended up voting Brexit believing the EU was their enemy.

So you don't trust the electorate to vote the right way ?

Of course not and especially not with a subject as complicated as the EU. People are easily influenced and controlled by their biases and mainly too lazy to try to think differently.

The Vote Leave campaign planted narratives then played on those over a number of years. One I remember from the time was NHS treatment. I personally knew people who voted leave convinced "they" were only coming here to get free treatment. That myth was targeted using methods on social media.

treating the electorate with contempt is/was never a good idea. You should have been more persuasive in your arguments at the time.
