Cameron Archer - Wasted

He started 3 games in the right position for wilder. He’s scored 2 goals

Wilder has bombed him out, we know what he’s like with ‘youff’

Any decent scout for any club will be looking to snap him up in the bottom half of the prem

It would be hard for any striker to shine in such a poor team who are outclassed in that league.

Fjortoft did stand out for Swindon in a similar position. I am sure that there are other slightly more recent examples!

The financial deal that Villa have done is financial gymnastics to stay within the limits. I think it stinks really, but perhaps such loopholes will be closed down in the future.

Mitrovic when Fulham were relegated?

Moved around. Never settled. Not because he's not capable, but because of circumstances, different Managers, etc.
Shows how talent can be wasted.

The lazy thing to do would be to say that bretherton has the same amount of goals in fewer games as archer which proves that archer is meeting the expectations

I think he needs to drop down to the championship for a full campaign. Whether that’s with us, Sheffield United or another top end 2nd tier side.

Maybe even go abroad.

You also have to wonder what impact the arrival of a manager who he'd (presumably) heard being roundly slated while at Boro may have had on him. Without doubting his professionalism, I don't suppose it turned him into a poster boy for positivity.

I think he's a cracking striker. Can't teach finishing like that.

However I think you need to play a certain way to get the best out of him. If you play one up top and fairly direct he'll struggle.

Why on earth you'd sign him for a Heckinbotham team I've no idea. Because they could I suspect.

At least Wilder should be slightly more suited to him, if he picked him.

Not sure if villa have to buy him back for £9m ( done figures were mentioned a while backer’s were all just guessing). So the deficit would effectively be just like a loan fee for the season. So on paper it was a buy but the small print will of allowed united to loan more players and protect the balance sheet if relegated.
Archers prem form should work in our favour as he’s not increased his value should we want him back .
Archer , latte , forss , jones upfront next season and akpom back in the summer 🫣

Archer was (still is) a clinical striker - you can't help but feel that his goals against Sheff Utd at Bramall Lane last year contributed towards his signature.

A very natural finisher, very much like Jermaine Defoe. Always the right weight and precision on shots at goal.
