Can you see us beating Plymouth?

Just booked tickets for Stoke away so really hoping we can best Plymouth and go there with a feel good factor and with the feeling it’s still all to play for.

Azaz will haunt his former employers with his first Boro hat trick in a 5-0 drubbing. UTB
Just realised - it's a big game for Azaz....he will want to impress of course and with 2 goals in 2 games bang in form....

Plymouth are no mugs and if we don't take our chances 0-0 could quickly become 0-1 or worse - the championship is full of teams that can hurt us if we aren't ruthless....
hopefully, that performance has instilled some confidence that will allow belief to flourish....Particularly for O Brien who had his best game by far....and hopefully he inspires barlassor to similar heights of performance as they form a partnership out of injuries to Howson and Hackney.

The interesting aspect is Engel or Thomas....probably Engel knowing Carrick - reward for being part of an excellent win - however, Thomas showing why we brought him here...i thought he was excellent against Preston.
Tough call....with 14 games to go....Carrick probably needs to pick his preferred player and stick with it. I'd go for Thomas personally.
I just think he offers that bit more....and he is still getting into his stride therefore I think there is more to come from him...goals from full back perhaps ?

Formation - what will Mr MC do ?
3-5-1-1 as per Leicester or 4-2-3-1
Once again - given the injuries to key personnel and the fact that Silvera did so well at Leicester he probably deserves another chance - HOWEVER, Plymouth will offer the low block (I assume) so little chance for us to run in behind as Silvera does.
This makes Saturdays tactics a difficult one and quite possibly brings Greenwood back into the picture and Forss on the right for goal prowess and stretching teams wide -
We are going to need to stretch Plymouth wide because down the centre will be packed with players.

Then there is Paddys comeback and how well he did - in a 3-5-1-1
Tough calls all over the pitch to come for Carrick so lets see....

So many questions and hopefully our bright young manager can find some of the answers come Saturday !

Anything can happen - we struggled against Rotherham and Plymouth are better than Rotherham.

I thought we were unlucky not to win at Plymouth in November, but we had Howson, Hackney, Jones and Coburn playing - all unlikely to play on Saturday.

Latte Lath back in the side hopefully - Azaz starting to manoeuvre his way around that front line - McGree being the baller we know he is!

I can see this one being comfortable. An early goal and a comfortable 3-0 win with the inclusion of a couple of young kids towards the end. One of those feel good games.

I reckon Latte Lath will be on the bench at best.

We rushed him back last time and it put him out for over a month, I think they'll be more cautious now we're only in with an outside chance of the play-offs.

Hopefully I'm wrong and he is fully fit and ready to go, we've missed having a striker.

I'm not sure I agree with that TC. He's been out injured for over a month because of an awful tackle by Disasi, which surely had nothing to do with him being rushed back.

I don't think it was an awful tackle, at least not from memory.

It should have been a penalty but it was a run of the mill foul in the 1st minute of the match.

It was studs on ankle from behind, hence the serious injury and potential penalty. Anyway, I still don't see how the cause of his injury was rushing him back.

I don't overly think us beating Leicester has any baring on Plymouth (or anyone) at home.

It's the championship. We are the absolute example of a championship 'anyone can beat anyone' side. I've no idea whatsoever which Boro side which turn on a Saturday. I guess that's actually 'literally' with the injuries 😂

I'd not put it past us to be god awful and lose. The home fans are due a good performance / win. I simply couldn't call the result.

I was actually shocked when I saw that Rotherham had only won 3 games all season, and of course one of them was against us.

This will be a weirdly high pressure game for the boro.. just off the back of a great victory against the top of the table AND with the 30 minute walk out looming over the team.

Even the most hardened principled, power to the people supporters will struggle to leave if we come out like the harlem globetrotters and are 4 nill up after 30 minutes lol

Plymouth play tomorrow against West Brom, so hopefully they get a bruising exhausting victory, then it potentially opens up another play-off spot again.
