Carrick future

Looks like he is in no hurry to go anywhere else fast and wants to build something solid here. Has his feet on the ground and realises management can be a long career and you don’t need to jump around from club to club to have a successful career in it. Great news!

Great news. He’s the fifth longest serving manager in the league, and hopefully he sees this club can and will give him time to develop and build a legacy. This season is a great example, another club could easily have sacked him, but how short sighted would that have been.

Not since McClaren has it felt we’ve had manager, players, chairman, recruitment all pulling in the same direction. Long may it continue. I’m sure MC has a big future in coaching ahead of him, we need to enjoy him while we can.

Yep, great news. Said it all along, he embodies all the values you want associated with your football club. A class act, as Allied Assault rightly says.

I hope the luck is with him next season - wasn't this one.

Really hope he has a Mike Bassett moment during the lap of appreciation tomorrow.

BBC Tees reporter "Are you staying on Michael?"

Carrick "4 more years!"
