Carrick realised it wasnt working and he changed it

Too many new signings playing at once, we already had decent players, we lost a lot of talent when Archer, Ramsey and Giles went back to their parent clubs but we still had proven players at this level.
Signings should have been made to augment what we had.
I don’t agree with those who have written the new lads off, you can see they have talent, Rogers especially.
So glad we kept Josh, I reckon he’ll get at least 15 if he’s given the game time, the lads a natural finisher.
He looks like hes had extra steak with his chips.
He`s going to be a strapping lad when he finishes growing.
Glad he stayed at home

I don't think many of our new signings were Carracks choices, and as for playing Crooks, he often plays Crooks, also not signing another striker, kept Coburn at the club, so if Latte wasn't scoring in the Championship, then it makes sense to give Coburn minutes on the pitch , and take the pressure off Latte.
Lewis O'Brien has played Left back before, and with Engel looking like a fish out of water, and Bangura injured then what other choices were there.
No do credit at all?

I'm not going to criticise him for playing the development players in the earlier games.

It was naive but at the same time, he will have no doubt felt as though he had to comply with the club's model and give these players a chance, unlike Wilder, who wouldn't play Forss and labelled him as a 'development player', because he was clearly sulking after the club had failed to sign his preferred targets.

Sheffield Wednesday was the game where he should have changed it really and gone with experience - he made a mistake starting Silvera and Engel, and taking McGree off so early into the 2nd half.

I'm sure he's learned from his mistakes and it feels like we're now on the right track. I'm sure the plan will now be to slowly integrate Rogers and Silvera, meaning that hopefully as the season progresses they'll become valuable members of the squad.

Latte Lath will be a better player than coburn, in time. His movement is superb.

His finishing is very poor at the moment and I think Carrick was playing him in the hope he would settle quickly. His finishing just got worse and he was, rightly, taken out of the firing line.

I think the same is true of Rogers also.

Coburn has filled out a bit and does make the defenders work but uses strength rather than gile.

I don't know what to make of Silvera and engel.

I Cant agree, coburn for me looks the real deal, latte has absolutely no composure in front of goal and i cant see that changing. Between Rogers silvera and engel we will be luckly if one turns into championship standard

The thing with Lath was it looked like he started trying way too hard instead of doing what came natural. To many extra touches, overthinking it. In training I'd have him doing 1 touch shooting drills on repeat. His work ethic, speed, and movement can't be questioned.

I'd say Engel and Silvera are having similar issues of trying too hard but also coming from much worse leagues so need time. It was a mistake to put them in so early.

I guess we will see as the season progresses.

I thought his finishing yesterday for the winner in a real high pressure scenario was a real strikers finish composed and accurate great finish.
I don't disagree. He won't create the number of chances latte lath will find himself in. Let's be honest lath could have 6 or 7 goals already had his finishing been better.

I don't know if he will improve that side of his game but I don't see any reason why he won't.
