"The win's not the most important thing for me today, it was more seeing the spirit and the togetherness.

"When things don't go your way and you're up against it a bit people's true character shows and who you can trust, who you can't and who's with you and who's not.

"I was standing on the touchline in the second half thinking whether we win, lose or draw this game I was hugely proud of everyone.

"Hopefully the players showed the fans what it means to them and the way the boys stuck at it, they gave everything, they fought for each other, no-one's ventured off, no-one's had a different agenda and it's easy to do that, I've seen it many times when results don't go well."

I picked up on that on the way home from the Redcar game. Definitely sounded like he was digging someone out.

I definitely took this as some of the fans who were quick to turn on Michael. He’s always said he’s believed in his squad. Trust in the Boss, he will get us there in the end. We’ve chopped and changed far too much he deserves our time.

I don't think he's having a go at anyone to be honest. Given where he last played, I think the comment was more a recollection of how certain superstars at Man Utd would behave than about our squad.
I doubt a savvy lad like Carrick would be daft enough to undo all the good work today with a dig at those not in the starting 11.

I thought he was being positive about the whole group to be fair. He’s showed judgement too in taking such as Lath and Rogers out of the firing line, they’ll likely come good, but need time to bed in. McNair won’t be here next season, but he’s been a decent servant to the club. Should be centre back cover this season.

Yeah, I don't think what he's said really implies that there are those he can't trust or anything, or that that's what he's saying, I interpreted it as him just speaking about it as a concept rather than a pointed, vague reference to anyone in the squad. Could easily be talking more broadly about that idea in general, based on his career.

He has to trust the players to carry out his instructions In the system.

If they don't we don't function.

Players may not be doing this as they are young, naïve and struggling to adapt to the Championship - no great conspiracy.
