The footballer.

What's the score with him? Thought he was found guilty and given 12 months for attacking someone in Belgium. But he's still playing......

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

"ILIAS CHAIR was able to start against Rotherham just a day after receiving a two-year jail sentence because Belgian prisons are currently over-crowded.

But the Belgian system has been hampered by a massive over-crowding problem in the country’s jails in recent years.

Until September 2022, anybody handed less than three years jail time would not see a single day behind bars."

I get the free to continue his life bit under Belgian law but that still doesn’t explain why the EFL is still allowing him to play. Surely the fact he was found guilty is grounds enough to suspend his playing licence as he’s brought the game into disrepute.

The game or the club? I don't think it's got anything to do with the EFL and more to with QPR. They are in such a predicament that they will want all hands to the pump and are not going to jeopardise the club's safety over the good of its name. It says a lot about the owners.

The EFL he’s guilty he’s not on remand awaiting trial he’s a convicted criminal of assault im staggered the EFL allow him to play.

The EFL needs to tread very carefully with disrepute allegations. They are amongst the worst offenders.

The EFL could find themselves in hot water if they suspend him and he wins his appeal.
I don't think they would. As it stands he is guilty. Even if he was locked up he could still keep appealing and it can take years.
If his appeal was successful they could just reinstate him then. Ched Evans played after his early release even before he won his appeal didn't he?

Haven't players have been suspended for stuff after being charged even before a trial?

No because he is guilty right now he’s a convicted criminal who has been given a custodial sentence.

an appeal is secondary look at that scrote that killed Brianne he’s appealing …..does it make him less guilty.

Exactly people need go distinguish between awaiting trial and an appeal.

He is a convicted criminal

Surely it's on his employers rather than the EFL? QPR presumably have policies in place in his contract to deal with issues such as this. If he can physically play (i.e. he's not in prison) and they want him to play, there would/should be little anyone else can do. Same as a contract of employment with any other employer I would think?

Didn’t we have Marlon King play for us after Wigan sacked him?

I couldn’t believe the club signed him and I certainly never cheered him.
Yeah that’s the only one I can really remember. He had issues throughout his career as well not just a one off.
