Chopped wife into 224 pieces

Okay. Every time we find that there has been somebody wrongfully killed we get to kill a member of your immediate family.

We are not animals though, so we will let you choose each time. You can even give your reasoning as to why you picked them.
This lad has not been wrongfully committed, he is guilty no DNA needed and he got just under 20 years, I'll ask again where is the justice in the case?

Also I certainly ain't disagreeing with alot of these comments but what I'm saying is in extreme cases like this where there is no unreasonable doubt that he committed this hideous crime, this is where the death penalty should be used, that's my opinion.

It's a playground argument; like a lot of political discourse it's looking for a simple answer to a complicated question.

That's where we differ. Fear of wrongful conviction isn't what make me oppose it, although it's a useful backup argument.

Seems like weeks since we had a bring back the death penalty thread 👶.
It's a NO from me. The 19 years is a minimum, he won't be getting out after that length of time anyway, makes it a better punishment having the possibility of release at the end of a long tunnel, but then getting denied it.

How much will 30-40 years in prison cost?

Im against the death penalty too, there’s just no easy solution

Each to there own chutney 👍, in the case which I've posted and in my opinion he should pay the full consequence of his actions and at the very minimum be never allowed out of his cell again, life should mean life. Also I wonder how the poor girls family feel with that sentence he has received.

It's not an either/or is it?

I think most would agree he should never see the light of day.

If a sentence is too lenient the next option isn't the death penalty, its a more severe custodial sentence. Life without parole.

What the actual fcuk, another example of our joke of a justice system.

You can't tell me that the death penalty can't be used on someone like this!!

sentenced to a minimum term of 19 years and 316 days behind bars!!!

Surely he will never get out. Someone capable of chopping their wife into over 200 pieces can't be rehabilitated. He is clearly mentally disturbed and does not belong in society.

How would the family of the first person wrongly executed feel?

I know minimum is the key word here, but her family have to live with the knowledge they guy could be walking the streets as a 47 year old man having done that.

Of course he won’t, he’ll probably spend life inside, but that’s deeply unfair on her family to have that doubt in their minds.

It should be life and hard labour to be honest

let them suffer in prison, let everyone know what they’ve done and they will not have an easy time.

I think this is the bit I have an issue with i think.

We’re not locking him up with an intention of “rehabilitating” him… we’re locking him away in a cell for the next 40 years to keep him away from society and so we can say “well, at least we didn’t just kill him.”

When people commit suicide after committing some heinous crime it is sometimes said 'they took the easy way out'. Then say want the death penalty to have them killed 🤷
