Usually want English teams to win but got to admit I'm not gonna get too upset about City not winning the champions lge" oh no they aren't going to do the treble 😢*

I'm assuming the same ball has to be used through a penalty shootout. There was multi ball system through the full game.

I'm guessing you're right but that's a mad rule, what if the gadgie who had the ball decides to stick the ball up his jumper and run off into the rainy Manchester night, would they have to wait until he was apprehended by the local bobbies/cancel the penalty shootout?

I may be overthinking this....

Got to say the gadgie/gadjess who hung onto the ball will either get a bat or be be named and shamed but top class goalies will study their potential openents and have an inkling of what they might do in pens, unfortunately Bernardo just stuck to his routines.

TNT’s interest in the CL will drop off now, they usually cut the coverage short of any games that don’t feature English teams and the usual pundits just don’t do enough research.

watching it in Brasil. Overtime/penalties completely full with adverts (they pop up on the side of the screen here during games). I assume TNT will still make something out of the world outside of the UK.

This bar was 90%+ for Real. Although it is true, the local pundits did seem to know a bit about them 😀

..... an all German final may not have the Brasilian advertisers piling in ...

My winners in order of preference.

1. Harry Kane

2. Borussia Dortmund (although I find the yellow wall vvank-fest a little trite now, personally).

3. Jude Bellingham

4. Qatar Investment Authority

Bayern Munich for Kane >>
Borussia Dortmund >>
The competition getting abandoned >>
PSG >>

Newcastle >>
Sunderland >>

Real Madrid

It's a joke that the club that still to this very day is trying to dismantle the Champions League is even able to compete in it, that's before you get in to all the other many dodgy aspects about Real Madrid.

Have they (along with Barca and Juventus) actually resigned from the European Super League? 😳

Juventus have, because the board that pushed for it, including Agnelli, all quit when criminal investigations were started against them.
The new board withdrew from it.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are still pushing for it right now, with the same leadership in charge.

Dortmund beating Bayern in the final is what we all want to see.

But it will very likely be a PSG v Madrid final.

I take it our European seeding co-efficient took a massive hit last night.
5th place won't be a Champions League spot now surely.

Spurs/Villa are the biggest losers last night. One of them is now going to miss out on CL football.

Before the QF draw we had a 82.25% chance of getting that 5th spot.

After the draws, it dropped to 70.6%.

After the first legs, it dropped to 57.8%

And after last night, it took a huge hit.

And if the results all go against the PL teams tonight, then the PL would have a 0% chance.

It is looking very unlikely the PL will get that 5th spot.

It's virtually impossible.

Two German teams progressed to the semi-finals of the Champions League, two English teams were knocked out.

Leverkusen are 2-0 up from the first leg against West Ham and have yet to lose a match all season.

Liverpool are 3-0 down.

Aston Villa aren't going to earn enough coefficient points by themselves even if they win the Conference League.

It will be a sad day if Spurs finish 5th and don't quality for the Champions League. 😃 😃 😃 😃

Agreed there is far more to dislike about Real Madrid than City, Man Utd or even Chelsea and over an extended period of time.

Why? I know TeaCider and one or two others have a massive downer on Real Madrid but I've never understood how anyone can dislike them more than the oil state owned clubs.
