Club Shop - Complete Shambles!

I would say our fan base is the number than went to the Play off Final in 2015 plus a few thousand who couldn't get to the game because of age/mobility - living in Oz, on an oil rig, in the Arabian desert/fighing in Afganistan, mercenaries in Africa etc = 43,000 in total.

Can't use Tees Valley as an accurate catchment area - Darlington and Hartlepool are not Boro areas, neither Tees Valley much west of Yarm.
I think you are way out with this guess.

I know loads of people who are boro fans but didn't go to the playoff final.

It was a very expensive weekend or a right faff on to get there and back same day for loads of people so they watched at home/pub.

Anyone who's been to the shop recently know what the stock was like on the latest retro kits? In stock online but not sure if that reflects the store or a warehouse?

Christmas jumpers too

Just called in to the club shop to buy a Boro tea mug as my old one had gone the distance. Thought rather than get one from Amazon or the like I'd make the effort to head over. Needless to say it was a complete waste of time. One solitary Christmas themed mug on an empty stand. Surely these sell all year round and you have enough stock to meet spikes in demand. I'm fascinated by the model the retail department is using to manage their retail stock offering.
I asked a member of staff if there were any more in stock and I was assured there was and directed back to the empty stand. Their response was a surprised shrug and the comment, 'You have to buy early for
Christmas'. It wasn't for Christmas but I really couldn't bring myself to say any more 😀 UTB

That's almost the wildest commercial dreams of the club fulfilled isn't it? A shop with no stock to sell and no new fans through the turnstiles, existing season card holders only?

Plenty of other places selling them, incredibly still in stock even this close to Christmas (mind blowing for mfc retail staff I'm sure). Probably better designs and cheaper too.

Looking forward to a reduction in ticket prices next season anyway. Can only assume we're doing fantastically well financially given we don't seem to have any need or desire to maximise other revenue streams.

I was hoping for one of the mint green 1/4 zip training tops so beloved of Michael Carrick but they've long gone. Wonder if there's any on this rumoured slow boat from Italy?

The next shipment was due in today wasn’t it, has anyone been to see if the shelves are full of kit as promised?

You realise that all the away shirts and most of the sizes of home shirts were in stock for last Saturday's game - I called in to ask for an update before the game. They had been ordered to coincide with the two home games.
I was told again - any items such as the mug above that have sold out can be ordered online and then immediately they come available you will be informed and you can get it sent direct without going in the shop,

I know from calling in regarding books on sale they have been selling loads of items over the past week or so - lots of people calling in for the two home games.

I was in again yesterday and I did not check on mugs but there was a good range of home and away shirts in stock. Loads of different Boro books, calendars, several different hat and glove and scarf types (different colours too).

But the idea of ordering online is so if you want a particular item you are immediately informed when it is available.

Shirts:
No stock of home shirts in adult sizes below 4XL
No stock of child home shirts at all
More positive with mini kits - everything in stock apart from age 4
Away shirts - adults - no size S but every other size currently in stock
Away shirts child - everything apart from XXS (cryptic sizes again)
Away mini kits only 18-24m in stock everything else sold out

In terms of shorts/socks (only done kids as what adult wants the shorts?!):
Home shorts - only 2YXS in stock everything else sold out (cryptic sizes again)
Home socks - in stock
Away shorts - completely out of stock
Away socks - completely out of stock

So I make that if you wanted to buy your child a full kit then you couldn't.

15th of December and you basically can't buy a home shirt. madness!

Quick check on QPR, Millwall and Sheff UTD website and you guessed it pretty much full size range available on all their home kits and away Kits.

Rob the point of having a physical store is people can come in and buy products.

If the club want everyone to go online and get updates of when stock will be in then just close the physical shop down, as its a waste of money having it open.

If you have a store and have no stock on gifting for Christmas and core product ( ie Kits) that is down to bad planning and management, nothing else.

Saw on social media today that away shirts were now in stock. Just been to the shop and purchased - my son wants Hackney on the back so told to collect on Tuesday, such is the demand...a demand that has not been met for 3 months as most sizes not available since early September.
Whichever way you look ar that and whatever the 'reasoning' from MFC Retail, it is simply unacceptable and commercial madness, yet it happens every single season.

The cynic in me can't help thinking that MFC deliberately understock home/away shirts etc. to portray Errea as some kind of sort after/niche manufacturer, where in reality it is a brand primarily associated with small clubs & countries who win nothing!
