Good point CTC but we are usually strong at home when it matters.

They are obviously in the play-offs for a reason, they are a top 6 side. However this doesn't negate that we are good too, especially at home, and our home record therefore makes us favourites. This doesn't mean we are arrogant or Cov have no chance, but most supporters are quietly confident due to our home record. Don't think there is anything wrong in having that opinion.
I hope Boro turn up.

Carrick needs to earn his money tomorrow. Just make sure that the team is prepared and motivated and understands what needs to happen.

There was no trap and it cetainly wasn't Coventry's plan. Not winning your home leg isn't a good plan if it was. It was just a match that finished 0-0 and this is another one off game, i don't think any fans or players will think it's job done.

what about all the winning semi finals? Or the promotion vs Brighton. Or Oxford. Or Wolves. Or the play offs in 88?? Like any team we win some, we lose some.

Boro have to earn the right to win the game tomorrow night. It's obvious but football is about both teams and each one will be doing their upmost to get the result they want. Boro need to win individual battles, pass the ball with pace and accuracy, move Coventry about and be clinical when chances are created.
Yes, all teams lose sometimes. Somehow with Boro it seems to happen when nobody really expects it, when there's a lot at stake, big crowd and a real chance of winning something. Just when you dare to dream, the team doesn't show up and lose to some team they really should beat.
Man City, Birmingham City, Orient, Wolves, Cardiff City... there's a lot of scar tissue.
Those defeats seem worse because they were non-performances. Never look like scoring, concede, and lose with a whimper. It would be different if they'd lost 5-4 in a heroic battle, but those weren't. Just a capitulation.

If Coventry beat us tomorrow in our own backyard with a full house then they will deserve their place in the final.

I get it, but most clubs our size can no doubt point to similar matches. But there are loads of games against similar opposition where we've been successful.

There's no safety net this time. The players know what needs to be done and it will be done. I have great faith in them.

what about Basle, Bucharest, Arsenal semi in 04, Bolton final, Brentford semi, Brighton in 2016, I could go on and on.
You win some you lose some, same as every club. If we lose tonight it'll be to a team who've had a good season and finished a handful of points and a place below us in the table.
Nowt to be embarrassed about and nowt to be scared of, our home record is good under Carrick and I think we win more of these big games at the Riverside than we lose.
Its a great opportunity and hopefully the players can take it.
