Genuinely sad to read this today. THE most lethal finisher in football history. RIP Der Bomber... will never be another.

Sad news

a true legend

not many names are used to define what greatness truly is but everyone knew what it meant to spoken of in the breath as him.

RIP.

The striker scored 68 goals in 62 appearances for West Germany, including the winning goal in the 1974 World Cup final against the Netherlands.

RIP Der Bomber.
As already said there’s a handful of players who could be described as truly great and Geri Muller was certainly among them.

‘ Muller known as Der Bomber’ was there for years.

Another hero from my youth, a great footballer and lethal finisher. One of a handful of foreign players who found themselves on my bedroom wall next to John Hickton.

RIP

Properly broke my heart in that quarter final in Leon Mexico 1970.

Crikey Zorro you’re on fire with

The best poacher in the business. Thighs like tree trunks. Brilliant for both club and country in a one club career.
