Actually the opposite. Schwarzer regularly had the best, or near to the best, stats in the league when it came to taking crosses.
I'd imagine he has a lot less crosses into the box to deal with than back in Schwarzer's day. Teams a lot less likely to "get it in the mixer" these days

He was fine before he had his face broken after that he became a lot more hesitant. F-ing West Ham.
 
I’d love to know the real reason that he didn’t come straight back into the team. There were one or two rumours flying around at the time, which would actually have made sense as to why he was benched.
However, if the rumours were total bollox, which is likely, and it was simply a management decision, then it was a big mistake and hopefully one that Carrick has learned from.
 
Schwarz punched a lot from recollection, Dieng is much more likely to try and catch. Great fingertip save yesterday.
