On the Sunderland forum the general consensus is that the game was boring dross, and neither Sunderland nor Luton have anything to fear from Coventry or Boro.

On the Coventry forum the GC is that the referee was awful and gave us everything.

People see very different things from different perspectives, but it's probably been like that ever since the first pig bladder was kicked.

Coventry made a number of fouls which the referee correctly gave. Could sense the frustration from Coventry but they were the correct decisions. The only iffy decisions were Akpom's booking (didn't even look like a foul) and the Jones offside (looked v. tight).

That's genuinely baffling. In the middle of the park his decisions were very good - yes, he did stop play a number of times for fouls by their players, but they were genuine niggly little fouls. Just because Hamer and Gyokeres waved their arms about doesn't mean they were hard done by. But if anything, Boro had the harsher of the decisions overall, since he missed the obvious foul on Jones after 14 mins and then booked Akpom for a challenge which even the commentators admitted wasn't a foul (although Cov fans were baying for a red card).

Akpom was getting fouled all over the pitch but never drew a yellow card, he was then booked for a non foul when the ref was playing an advantage that didn't materialise.

I thought he was booked for mouthing off at the ref

Oh OK - that could well be the case. I didn't notice if so. But still it wasn't a foul and perhaps we were lucky the ref didn't pay any attention to the baying Cov fans and get overexcited with his cards like Keith Stroud did recently.

If you watch that game tonight, and can’t see our obvious class and how much we’d batter dross like Sunderland, then you don’t understand football which is maybe why you ended up supporting Sunderland in the first place.
