Based on what?

Spence at 21, had 1 good season in the championship, signs for Spurs for £15m.
Wan Bissaka at 21, had 1 good season in the premier league, signs for Man Utd for £45m.

Wan Bissaka has went on to make over 100 appearances for Man Utd, who finished 3rd and then 2nd in the league.

Just because he's had a bad season doesn't make him an average player.
 
Spurs have history of playing hardball and not buying players at the selling clubs valuation, so if he doesn't board the plane to S Korea on Saturday he won't be going to them full stop. What do we do with him then, he is still our player but he would be toxic at the club and if he plays for us but isn't interested it could push his value down, so it's in our interests to sell him cheaply or loan him to Forest until January and hope he has a blinder there and we get a bidder then.

Conte makes a big deal about preparation, and going through all the steps together, that is why they have been so active in getting their players in before this trip, this is why there is so much speculation this week.

Yep but they'll still bring others in beyond this week, as will anyone else who's off on a foreign tour
 
Talk sport were reporting yesterday that a deal had finally been agreed between the two clubs. The deal was 15M + 5M add ons. (Quite how people get to know this info is beyond my scope of expertise but the reporter will no doubt have contacts and hear whispers etc....)
Various pundits on there were raving about Spence. Most probably based on 2 televised games in the F.A. cup against Prem opposition. Adjectives such as, 'intelligent', 'aggressive', 'potential' were talked about.
Props to the boro hierarchy for not snapping Spuds hands off with an offer of 10M or similar. (Forrest offered 8M according to Gibson's buddy, Simon Jordan)
Good to see Gibson wont allow one of the country's biggest clubs to shaft us like a freshmen on day one of a new term.

Like all people on here though, I'm bored of it now. I'm sick of Djed Spence living in my head rent free if truth be told.

If he comes back here and plays for us it will destroy his value, he will not be interested and the performances for onlooking buying clubs will be poor. Send him out on loan yes he loses half a season but if he performs at premier level then his value goes up.
 
Sorry - lot of responses on here already but did the OP explain how right sided defender Spence would get in the England World Cup squad when Southgate already has Alexander Arnold, James, Trippier and Walker? There are probably 2 or 3 others you could add but with just those 4 I can’t see how Spence is getting in the World Cup squad in November?
 
PL starts on Sat 6th Aug, they have under a month.. to get him fit & into their system...

Transfer Window closes 1st Sept 23:00... for both EFL & PL... they'd want him in long before that as if he's here he may be playing, I really doubt that, or we'll arrange another loan, possibly to a PL team & his value & cost, may increase..

Chelsea have lost loads of defenders, maybe he could be one they are interested in, play James as a right side CB.. though I think James is the best RB in the league..
