Do you remember the best beer you’ve ever had?

I was about to say I'd lost count but one that sticks in my memory most was at a beer festival in Leicestershire when I first tasted Exmoor Gold. Enjoyed it so much I tried a few more. Also discovered during lockdown that they still make it and bought some from the brewery.

Weather it’s an occasion, event or just a stonkingly good beer.

2 stand out for me, the beer after I got home after my little boy was born, delivered safely and with his mam in the hospital, I got home about 3am and cracked open a big standard carling or fosters, nothing fancy, but it tasted out of this world owing to what had just happened. The other (and the reason for the post) is a £5 beer I bought from Tesco and just drank, more than I’d usually spend on one can but curiosity got me, and it was absolutely fabulous, brewed by a company called vocation, beer called triple vision, anybody into beer should try it, btw it’s 10% so take your time!!

What’ll yours be?
Vocation are an incredible brewery. They really do some beautiful beers. I often treat myself to a box of random beers from them. Their special beers and there main core range are cracking.

I drove to a place called Mareuil-Sur-Lay, France which is over 400 miles from Calais. It is a 6hr drive nonstop by car but must have taken us 10hrs or more towing the caravan. After getting set up we walked into the town and I ordered a pint of Grimbergen Blonde. Grimbergen is a good drink in any case but this was something else. The glass was frosted and the late summer heat was causing the frost to melt down the glass. It resembled the scene from Ice Cold in Alice except the beer didn't last that long. I necked it in one and ordered another.

My son, aged 17 at the time, tried to do similar and it ended up spoiling his meal due to it going straight to his head.

Difficult to disagree with Magnet in the pig but...

Saison Dupont for the first time years back in a bar overlooking the canal in Ghent was/is pretty memorable.

Some of the punchier stouts also stick in the memory - Mikeller Beer Geek is exceptional, as is anything from the Thornbridge Neccessary Evil Range.

Donzoko Tied Vines recently, really great beer.

Currently anything from Burnt Mill or Duration is pretty good.

Finally a shout out to Thornbridge Beacon, recent collab with Neptune Brewery and the best brown ale I've tasted.

Need any more? :p

Galecian lager, cold, I don't even normally drink lager, but a joy to behold.

I can think of 100's of occasions I have enjoyed s beer, but I keep going on about this but the square in Ostrava with my son, draught beer I don't know the name of.

After a very cold day's fell walking around Coniston, we had several pints of Coniston Bluebird in The Black Bull in front of the fire. I go back there every time I visit the Lakes and it is a different class.
