Early Bird Season Ticket Prices Announced

I wonder what would happen if a season ticket holder changed their name by deepole.

It might be the solution to reclaim my free drink.

The woman at the ticket office said they'd restore it if it was my brother renewing the season card rather than me.

If we've both got the same name, then problem solved.

The club are a business too, every penny counts, probably more so now.

It really disappoints me when people are always on about doing the right thing, criticising politicians as liars and cheats, but turn a blind eye to their own ‘minor’ indiscretions as if somehow its ‘different’. Trying to do things like use concessionary cards of family members to gain cheaper access or worse still, even get the SC in an elderly relatives name. (Yep i know someone that did that 20 ish yrs ago) No idea if they got away with it for long, they were bragging about it in a pub, it is not ok.

Anyone who thinks it is ok to defraud the club using a concessionary ticket when it isn’t applicable or tries to claim a free pint on a relatives card they no longer use or whatever other scams like using family members SC’s to get away tickets they or their mates would otherwise miss out on, it is fraudulent behaviour.

I've not once tried to defraud the club.

I became the sole user of the season card in 2014 when I still lived at home and my brother had moved away.
The free drink stopped being provided to new season ticket holders after the 2015/16 season.

I've paid for and used the season card for 8 years.
I just felt reluctant to go through the hassle of changing the name on the card, I've been proven right in that, as it's been a pain trying to rectify the situation since and I was given no warning by the ticket office that there would be any issues with the name change.
It was in the fine print of the terms and conditions, so I can't argue I've been wronged, but it was a frustrating situation.

I don't particularly appreciate being accused of trying to scam the club when I've not done so.
Especially not when my free drink has almost exclusively been a bottle of water for years.

I think you have taken it too personally when it was a general comment on various potential scams, I was not intending causing you directly any offence. I quoted examples of various scams people have done. I did not name you or reference you. As you have taken things to a personal level because one of my comments has seemingly touched a nerve, I will pass comment.

The club make it clear that the name on the card is their customer not a relative of the customer. Who pays for the card is largely irrelevant to the contract with the club. The contract is only valid if all parties are aware of the nature of their agreement. Middlesbrough football club will have believed they had a contract with your brother not you. If you can not see the breach that has occurred, I can’t help you. The correct and right thing to do would have been to request the change with the club at the time the change was wanted by yourself.
Unfortunately failing to do it at the time may have cost you the free drink, but that is hardly the club's fault. I appreciate the comment about you changing your name by deed pole would solve it was likely in jest, however anyone actually doing that would be defrauding the club as they would not be the same person.

A general comment about people trying to defraud the club of free drinks by using their family member's season card immediately after my post mentioning that I'd been using my brother's season card and had lost my free drink when trying to change the name on the card.

Your post was a direct reaction to mine.

I did the correct and right thing when the change was wanted in August, I did the correct and right thing today when I went to the ticket office to renew my season card and tried to rectify the situation for the fourth time.

I'm not actually particularly bothered about the free drink, it's just a bottle of water, I'd have accepted losing it as the price of the correct name on a piece of plastic.
I just resent the fact that I lost it at the start of the season without warning, and was then wrongly told by the head of the ticket office that I'd be able to retain it if I allowed them to revert it to the original season card name.
Now I have the wrong name and no drink.

So that's what the Pools season ticket works out at, or are you comparing apples with oranges?

It was £325 for an early bird adult season ticket at Hartlepool for this season, £14.13 a match.

People who were renewing only paid £275, £11.96 a match.

£20 for a walk up matchday ticket.

It should be cheapest price £420 early bird, which works out at £18 a game in the Championship.

£480 for new buyers, working out at £20 per game. This means bridging the gap in price between renewals and new buyers but I genuinely believe we have a hardcore of roughly 16k fans who would still continue to renew despite this, and it may just encourage more new buyers.

We would then be in a position to lower walk-up prices to £25 in the Championship, or a minimum £30 price if we were to go up.

I popped into the ticket office on Saturday and they applied the credit to my season ticket renewal payment and it was sorted out there and then.
So you must do it in person then rather than online. I have been waiting to try until things calm down

Considering it was a Tuesday, it was a busy and slow queue at the ticket office this morning.

I arrived at 10am, behind about 10 people, and didn't get seen until 10:45am.

I presume part of that was down to the card issues.

Nope. Card issues are only online, unless it was people trying to sort that out.

I was told earlier in the season that online wasn't an option if I wanted to use the credit I had so I'd need to go to the ticket office or do it over the 'phone.

What also slows it down is the speed it takes to pour a pint. It's not the staff they have it in full - bit it seems to pour so much slower than in pubs
At Birmingham last week they had a lad behind the bar who was just pouring pints ready for the staff to dish out when purchased. Who would have thought of such a thing ?
