EFL Announcement

I do find the whole var thing bemusing. I was at the women’s league cup final yesterday Chelsea thought they’d scored first half, but var ruled it out. It was a clear handball to control the ball, but the ref couldn’t see it from her angle. Anyway cue the two people behind me spending the next hour just whining about how var has ruined the game…..despite it just stopping a massive injustice in a cup final. I think people just like to have something to whine about

Because it's sh it
no it's just VERY badly implemented by the EPL..

if they can automate offsides that would be excellent, the goal line tech is already very good & the rest is all - subjective - calls so I'd rather let the ref make the call & each manager get 3 appeals per game & 1 red card appeal.. something like that anyway.. game needs to keep it's pace & VAR slows the game down far too much at present, just badly implemented..

Three appeals? Heaven forbid that. All that would happen is that you would get the manager appealing against every goal they concede and nobody will be able to celebrate a goal spontaneously while we wait for the VAR system to check.

Because we want to be able to celebrate and believe we can celebrate. We do not want to lose the spontaneous experience.
I think football needs to be like other sports, use the technology properly, get rid of dodgy decisions and cheating and reduce abuse of the genuine referees
Because its implementation in England has been appalling (in my opinion).
yes without a doubt

It keeps everything honest and leads to less abuse of the refs by taking them out of the firing line.

I’m old enough to remember when people said all seater stadiums would ruin the experience of a match.
