EFL statement ref Derby (updates)

Re Wycombe suing - aren't they one of the club's least affected by derbys cheating? It was over a period of three years, Wycombe weren't relegated during the period derby cheated. Wycombe got relegated because they played badly, they aren't being hard done by at all, it's just they may not be the beneficiaries of a massive stroke of luck, someone else may be.
Lots of club's were disadvantaged by derbys cheating, Wycombe weren't even in the division at the time.

Having said that should they be sued I'm sure that won't be derbys argument.

I agree with what you're saying - we potentially lost out to the tune of up to £100m if we'd not been pipped to 6th place by the cheating gits.

Interesting situation thats left in that EFL could be left with high legal costs for ultimately 100k fine, I'm sure the other EFL clubs will be loving our Gibbo.

Some people who seem to know there stuff on this calculate Derbys loss for the period would go from a 6m loss (thanks to the stadium sale) to a 36m loss, which is still below the threshold of 39m therefore resulting in no points deduction.

Consequently, the EFLs only other option is to appeal this decision again but to go from punishing a club 100k to a back dated relegation or any type of points deduction would require a monumental shift which is never likely to happen.

The fact the EFL seem so quick to be the ones to release information, even before their own commision, shows they feel they are on the run and desperate to salvage any scrap of credibility.

Release the accounts, if the numbers ring true everyone just needs to move on (and sell their stadium to fund purchases should they want).
Hate to say I told you so, but....

Ironically, the legal fees divided between the rest of champ clubs will mean they have been fined more each than Derbys 100k, I'm sure they're all delighted.

EFL knew they were beat all ends up and the 'interchangeable fixtures' a farce to save face, really unprofessional.

Reports also that due to the sale of the ground, they will comfortably pass FFP for the last 3 years too.

More EFL sanctions tonight. #dcfc have accepted a suspended 3-point deduction that will be activated if they fail to pay their players before June 30 2022. #swfc have accepted a suspended 6-points deduction, which becomes active if they don’t pay before the same date

They have a year to pay their players!

Sorry to keep prodding this, but what Stoke have done in the past 3 years is even worse IMHO.
Year to May 2020 (latest) they have an Operating Loss of £19m and a self calculated loss of £70m on Player Trading. They have lost £89m in one season. This because they charged Impairment of Player value £43m i.e. just blamed Covid and wrote off £43m in one season, plus a further £30m in Amortisation in that season. They have effectively written off their squad value and will take no further amortisation charges, freeing them to buy again and amortise with little effect on their P&L .

They also lost £15m in Year to 2019 and £30m in the year to 2018.
They have lost £135m in 3 years and are trying to hide behind Covid as a means to devalue players without penalty.
Coates hasn't even injected Equity in these last three seasons to offset the Loss (Champs clubs can inject £8m per season.

Stoke are so far over the top it is a disgrace and nobody is saying anything about it.

I can't understand why nothing has been done against Stoke, especially if the EFL are trying to clean its house up.
