England v new zealand T20 world cup semi

We are up, just reading the comments back. Just goes to show you how sport can take you from elation to the dumps so quickly!!!!

Great game between to well respected sides, and played in the right spirit too. Always look forward to games with England as there doesn't seem to be any beef between the 2 sides.

3 finals in last 3 major tournaments, can't be bad. Hopefully people will stop calling them 'plucky' NZ from now on.
Absolutely brilliant from NZ, I think against anybody else England would have won, just go on and win the whole bl00dy thing now, also I think the Bairstow “catch” evens us up from 2019.

NZ could well be the first team to be T20 Champions, 50 over World Champions and ICC Test Champions👌

Any chance this thread can pulled before the Kiwi contingent wake up and we can pretend we weren’t that bothered 😬
Just seen this. Sorry about that. We did owe you one! Had a feeling we would do it. Jimmy Neesham had an average of 46 before todays game ao our strength in depth is such a plus. Had no qualms about our bowling but are batters are showing form too now.

Hope its Pakistan in the final rather than Aus who we seem to have bogey against us.

March on Kane and the boys.

Fair play, still an enjoyable game. Couple of unfortunate injuries probably the difference, but NZ are a good team clearly.

Im not sure we did loads wrong, Neesham just smashed it.

These stats by Andy Zaltzman just show what a crazy game it was.

'That was a magnificent, fluctuating match. Before today, since start of Super 12s, teams chasing 160+ had won 1 lost 10. NZ had never scored more than 60 in overs 16-20 to win a T20, and England hadn't conceded more than 60 in death overs to lose.'

England should never have lost from that position with 4 overs left, however one great consultation is that Warner just walked after edging behind.

Only he completely missed the ball 🤣🤣🤣

Couldn’t happen to a nicer player. Yesterday NZ turned down a run when the non striker blocked Rashid and you see Warner’s class today when he hit a six off a double bouncer that stuck in the bowlers hand.

Ooof that drop then 3 sixes to win.

Fair play to Australia but again, no way should Pakistan lose from that position.

I think batting second is a big advantage in 20/20 so winning the toss might make all the difference.

England, as winners of their group, should have had choice when to bowl / bat. similarly Pakistan. They would have both chosen to bowl first and would have met in the final.
