According to this twitter... who'd have thought they wouldn't play by the rules?!
It isn't, the police don't cover the vast majority of football played in the country. There's over 1000 teams in this area, the police cover two or three of them. We’re they the only team playing football this weekend?
From what I can see, plenty of teams played on both Saturday and today, both posh and non posh.
Personally I didn’t agree with any games being postponed, but can understand the reasons if it’s due to availability of police.
That's just not true. We were categorically told by the league that no football can be played. No matched No friendlies and no training. Anyone caught playing at all would be fined. We’re they the only team playing football this weekend?

Ok I’ll answer again with a bit more info. Plenty of teams up and down the country played games this weekend. The games were hastily organised friendlies and not league fixtures, and are therefore not endorsed by the FA.That's just not true. No football was to played as a mark of respect to the queen.
So there are two options. Either the Eton organisers don't respect the queen. Or the whole lot of them don't respect the rest of us.
I wonder which is true
The order from the FA was ALL matches were to be cancelled, it was specifically stated that it including friendlies. Only training sessions allowed. In my area that was 100% followed. We’re they the only team playing football this weekend?

Friendlies have to be sanctioned otherwise you aren't insured.Ok I’ll answer again with a bit more info. Plenty of teams up and down the country played games this weekend. The games were hastily organised friendlies and not league fixtures, and are therefore not endorsed by the FA.
Whether or not you or I think that is right or wrong is irrelevant. My nephew played a friendly yesterday (under 11’s) instead of their scheduled league game and before it they observed a minutes silence. It was quite moving to see actually.
No but plenty of right wingersAny centre forward cover for us to nab?
