We get a biased co commentator. Tonight was ex Luton. Normally it’s goodman. Why can’t they just get a neutral. It’s embarrassing to listen to
Yeah, Goodman doesn't give Boro the lickings of a dog when commentating on our games. We get a biased co commentator. Tonight was ex Luton. Normally it’s goodman. Why can’t they just get a neutral. It’s embarrassing to listen to
I don't get the issue people have with Don Goodman, he's fine.
The pundits and commentary was biased towards Luton last night, but I think that just comes with the territory of being the home team.
They're obviously going to spend more time discussing the team whose ground they're at.
I assume it happens when our home matches are on Sky too.
The only person who annoyed me last night was David Prutton, seemingly ignoring the circumstances in which they took the lead and blowing smoke up Rob Edwards (who I thought spoke well) without ever asking his thoughts on the incident.
Why is that obvious? I can't see the logic myself. They're obviously going to spend more time discussing the team whose ground they're at.

Yep, lots of people can’t see that to everyone else we’re just any other team.Stewy is normally a pundit for our games. He always gives us a good review. I don’t see any posts about his ‘bias’ though.
And why would anyone really have a bias against Boro? To the point where they’d be hoping we lost while commentating on our matches. It doesn’t make sense. Goodman was loving Chuba against Norwich, loving Carrick’s work, loving Archer, loving the ruthlessness. Do you think he was being biased against Norwich while purring over Boro? It’s just nonsense.
I read a couple of posts on here on Sunday evening, bemoaning the EFL essentially being somehow ‘forced’ into having Boro at their awards ceremony because Hackney didn’t win Young Player of the Year. “We’re intruding on their big night out,” was one that stood out. This was just before Chuba won the main award. I mean, come on.
Referees, pundits, co-commentators… why would they have an active bias against Boro to the point where it affected their professionalism and potential career/work opportunities?
There’s probably something in that. And in how the club was treated in 1986. And when we tried to compete with the established clubs in the mid-90s, how we were spoken of by the London-based print media etc.Yep, lots of people can’t see that to everyone else we’re just any other team.
I think maybe the 3 points debacle has made a lot of our fans very tetchy about authority and/or how we are “treated” by the football community. Maybe after another 26 years they’ll let it slide.
I will never forget the morning we arrived in Eindhoven, we were one of the first on the square at daybreak having travelled overnight. We were chatting to a bloke who was absolutely boiling with rage at how the area Sevilla fans had been allocated in the city was so much better than ours and it was a disgrace “what they had and what we had”. He seriously needed to chill.
