Recently just finished a book called Everything Fat Loss by Ben Carpenter if anyone is interested in learning more, well worth the time it took.
I know what you mean about temperatures. It is supposed to be more than 40 degrees where I live in Spain for the next 3 days. Thank goodness the pilates studio has aircon.Thanks everyone for your advice and kind words, it's certainly been an interesting read. I'm currently working abroad but the place I'm at has excellent gym facilities. The outside temperature is currently 42° so walking/ jogging outdoors is pretty much impossible. So I've started with a gentle mixture of cardio and resistance for the first week to see how I get on.
I've also taken a good look at what I eat and particularly what I drink. I feel a lot more positive than did two weeks ago.

Do you use the chest strap and heart monitor as he suggests?DDPY worked for me
