I know quite a few people who have had Covid in the past month who have had it previously and most have said this bout is much worse than previous.

They could last Autumn, not yet confirmed for this autumn. Even if over 50s access is maintained, that still misses out millions of people.

I'm more worried about nukes than covid now though. I remember thinking that the world wouldn't move on from covid until there was a significantly bigger threat such as nuclear war.

It’s not a novel virus anymore to our immune systems . Despite mutations , our immune system is a lot better equipped to deal with it than when it first appeared
Think the world is nearly at the stage now where it’s endemic , if it isn’t already

The first statement alone is very poor as evidence because it fails to distinguish between mass vaccination and other factors that cause 2023 to differ from 2020 which include as significant in the case of Covid mass prior exposure to infection, the predominance of a less lethal subtype, and to a lesser but non-trivial extent better treatments.How's about there was millions dying before the vaccines, there wasn't after?

A proper study of course does filter these out and still produces clear and compelling evidence, but it’s important to do so and to leave the more sloppy thinking to the anti-science brigade.
