Favourite Wear/Tees derby?

Away game - When we beat them in the League Cup and there were Premier League and we were Championship.

Late 70's we were rebuilding under John Neal, took a very young side up there and dominated them. Only one goal, a Bosco flick from an Askew corner but Chris Turner made some excellent saves to keep them in it

Two nil at Joker in the 81/82 relegation season. Ashcroft and Baxter. Makem lads running on the pitch and throwing their scarves away in disgust.

2-2 at Ayresome Park in 94/95. Sunderland were 2-0 up, I think it was Craig Russell who scored twice, but Boro came back with two goals in what felt like about 40 seconds. One of them was an absolute screamer from Alan Moore, the other was an absolute bullet header from Big Nige.

I’d never heard Ayresome Park that loud before, when the team were pushing for the second and we got it the noise was insane. It was almost crackling in the air, the pure adrenaline.

About a minute after we made it 2-2, John Hendrie missed a golden chance to make it 3-2. He’d been tucking them away all season but I think a defender managed to get a last-gasp block on his shot and deflect it wide. You can’t imagine what would’ve happened inside ground if that’d gone in.

Sunday afternoon, 3pm. Just a wild, wild afternoon.

Favourite one at Sunderland would have to be Emerson’s rocket and Mustoe scoring with a tackle. What a fantastic afternoon that was, celebrating and having a right good sing song while a large group of nearby Sunderland fans made cut-throat gestures and shouted about paedophiles.

Surely not? It's just another game to them.

You wouldn't have thought they'd be such bad losers.

I cam on to say the same. I can still remember the Boro running out at home in what was their away kit of blue and black stripes, the best kit we've ever had.

Was there no segregation back in 1975? The celebrations in the East End look to be mixed amungst the stand when the boro goals go in

I thought Graeme Hedley would have got a mention by now

My first Tees/Wear derby. When he scored dozens of 'silent' mackems outed themselves in the Boys End by kicking off and trying to start trouble, only to get promptly battered then escorted out by the police.

Not a lot, the club always sold away tickets in tye seats behind the goal for cup games if they was demand, lots of wolves in there for the 6th round game
