Fontaines dc.

Looked packed in the standing area. But I heard tickets were still available. Can’t have been many. Cracking venue too.

The globe is a great venue and must add a lot to town centre bars, restaurants, shops etc when it's got shows on.

See loads of trolls slagging it off as a vanity project but why wouldn't you want something like that in the town attracting good acts and people to the area?

Councils get slagged off when they knock old buildings down and slagged off when they pay to bring them back into use. It's hard to win

Likewise they got hanmered for having a bad high street and not making use of the river, too many closed shops etc so they do something about all 3 and still get slated 😂 couldn't pay me enough money to be a councillor as I'd be firing off at all the idiots on Facebook constantly 😂

This was a bit different to the normally safer acts The Globe puts on so hopefully it being close to a sell out will be prelude to more bands/atists who are more current and not just living off past reputations. I like the venue, hate the bar prices and they have had some good shows on. Would have been to more shows had they not clashed with other things I had booked(Nick Cave for instance and The Waterboys).
This show shows it can be done. Lots of great bands who are at same level as Fontaines DC without having to roll out and dust off Status Quo. A band I have loved since I saw the at THe Redcar Jazz Club in 1970/71 ish but they have well been past it.

Standing area seemed full. Really good show. Majority of the pubs were closed after we got out - The Sun was full so ended up going to the wetherspoons

That's unusual, the pubs at that end off town are usually 11pm or later closing. The Cattle Market's open pretty late.

Saw them in Hull last week.
They do put on a cracking show.

It is great watching the younguns going mental from the safety of a seat up above………
