Forest Signing a CM

Honestly it's pretty desperate the hoops people jump through to try and convince themselves we are a better team to play for than Bournemouth. They are in the premier League we are not. Doesn't matter how many fans they have or if they're going down.
I think the comparison folk are making is fair.
Bournemouth are every bookmakers favourites to be relegated and are c1/2 to be so.
They will get thumped many times.
Their crowd is small and lacks proper club passion.
Their away support is paltry and they will particularly struggle.
How do you get up playing for Bournemouth?

Other clubs may well also struggle, but IF he can get a move to Everton, Leeds, Newcastle or a number of others he has a far lesser chance of relegation, a much bigger chance of staying on the higher terms and establishing himself as a real PL player. Moving to anybody above Bournemouth or Forest is a no brainer by comparison to staying at Boro; the odds bear all that out

The conurbation is undoubtedly a nice place to live, traffic aside. But its a long way from home, Leeds, Ibrox, anywhere really. Great move for Howson next season, retirees love that part of the world.

IF they do go down, Tav will almost certainly take a significant cut in terms.
We are roughly as likely to go up as Bournemouth are to stay up according to bookies. I think we are more likely but just my opinion.
If we go up his wage will go up, if Bournemouth go down his wage will drop.

I really could understand him chancing it at Forest because of their manager, their squad, their odds of staying up and because they are a proper club.
I think he would be making a mistake going to little Bournemouth.

Can’t disagree with any of that if i am honest.

They're a prem club, we aren't.
Obviously he'd rather join a "bigger" club say Everton or Saints, but if its a decision between Bournemouth or us, he'd be daft not to pick them.

Even if they come down, recent history says they'll bounce back.

Im not in a position to know his wages or Bournemouth's finances but i think its obvious if he leaves us he'll get a pay rise and even if they get relegated, he'll still be on more than what he's on now with us because his agent will make sure of that.

There's alot of blind Boro fans who think we're a bigger and better club, and he'd be better of staying here and getting promoted with us than going there and getting relegated with them.

they'e probably gonna lose every week, I didn't see anything in them last season to make me feel they're a prem quality side. They've signed a 27 year old Rothwell who has never played in the prem, and Fredericks who has only had one season as a regular starter in the prem and he's 30 soon.

They've got a good steady championship squad, not spectacular, but good enough. Prem League is a different beast entirely. They will be run off the pitch regularly.

They have a must win home game vs Villa, or they'll be rooted to the bottom within a month as they play Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool after that. I don't see them winning more than 6 games all season.

well that's one opinion, can't say I'd share it. He's a confidence player, and getting battered every game isn't going to help his confidence. Being in a team woefully out of its depth isn't going to help it either.

Maybe, maybe not. They've racked up massive debts trying to initially stay up, then trying to go back up, at some point that's going to become too difficult to service and they will have to have a fire sale and rebalance. As I posted above, even when in the prem they struggle for income. They can only resolve that by spending 100m on a new stadium, but they won't be able to get a loan for that with their finances as they are and a squad nowhere near prem quality. So they're in a bit of a death spiral right now. Last season was a bit of a last chance saloon. They would have been stuffed if they didn't go up. The lack of transfer activity, and type of player they have signed shows a club that is financially stretched.

Compare their activity to Forests, 10 players, 5 internationals and 90m investment, compared to 2 free signings. It's the sign of a club in trouble.

Fredericks and Rothwell, two great signings.

I'd wager 20 quid with you for charity that Bournemouth finish above Forest.

Just checked their squad compared to their last prem squad. They only scored 38 goals last time which is why they came down. Their top scorers were Calum Wilson (8) , Harry Wilson (7) and Josh King (6)

I don't believe they have a finish of the quality of Calum W, or a creator of the quality of Harry W in this squad. They're bang in trouble if they expect Solanke to score at this level off scraps. Might put a bet on.

Doesn't matter if the club go down. You've still had a season in the premier League. You've tested yourself against the best in the most competitive league on the planet. Far more visible than the championship, even if we somehow managed to smash the league. You'll get another big club and you are on big wages which you will command from now on.

Don't go and you may never get the chance again.

Plus the obvious. BIG PAY RISE.

I think there are two main reasons not to go. If you are not guaranteed or at least stand a very high chance of being a starter. Could damage your career. Look at Tomlin.

If you are very settled in the area. Particularly if you have kids.

I don't think stuff like loyalty or s***y ground really count for much.

Who cares, they are both most likely to come down. Does it much matter who is 19th or 20th?
I can get better than evens on Forest staying

Have a look at the Norwich squad and question why they haven't just flown off to other PL clubs.
Its hard to say you are a PL player wanting PL wages when you have been part of a side that has bombed and are on a wage reduction contract.
Tavernier would be that at Bournemouth IMHO.

they were never in advanced talks. They haven't even bid, just indicated they'd like to bid.

I've said it before, no decent footballer should go and play in front of 9,000 fans at that crappy ground in a non-footballing town. They'll be back in the champo next season, and they are one bad transfer window away from a decade in League One.
Or losing their dodgy rusian owner.
