Ive just seen a picture of him on the balcony at the England N.Z game.
He apparently is helping out in a coaching role.

He really looks like he has gone through hell considering his accident was last December, and is clearly still showing the signs.

Good luck to to him, a top man, I hope he gets the opportunity longer term within the team setup.
 
There’s an element of the guy from the falklands to it, no wonder there’s been no comment about it all. It’s shocking that 9 month later he is still in that state, life changing injuries!
 
I believe he crashed at over 100 in one of the new Morgan three wheelers and for some reason was wearing an open face helmet. He was always a little too brave doing stunts on TG. It looks very like he has had major facial reconstruction. Hopefully he has come through the worst and will be able to move on and get on with his life.
 
Absolutely terrible.

The stunts they were getting him to do were getting ridiculous… but by the sounds of it this was just a case of a car crash during testing.
 
Just seen it on the news and I was thinking about him recently, wondering how he was…

It’s good to see him out and about, but it looks like he’s far from fully recovered and no doubt his mental recovery will take a long time too..

Genuinely hope he comes through this with strength…
 
10 months later and still got facial ‘scabs’ surely they’re the result of recent ‘work’. Not my field but clearly it’s been bad. Is the silence because there’s a claim in the pipeline ?
 
Actually just seen the more detailed pictures in the times and clearly a lot of reconstruction to the rhs of his face. Also he’s wearing a hat so…….

just hope he recovered/ recovers fully.

Watched a couple of bits of TV in recent years. His recent one trying to get a Burnley kids into cricket was really good.

His show on his problems with his eating disorder / mental health was really eye opening too. A lot of media attention surround his reappearance already. Hopefully they just let him crack on and recover in his own time! 👍
 
I saw the pictures after I read this thread last night and it seems...in particular....that the right side of his face and his nose has been very badly affected by the crash he had (his mouth is slightly fallen and his nose looks very crooked).
I've seen a lot of people whinging about the papers publishing the pictures...Freddie's not daft. He's been locked away for so long that he knew when he came out in public again he'd be centre of attention so I can only assume he's ready to take that step.
Whatever though....to still have such physical injuries after 9/10 months...he must have been in one hell of a state after the crash
 
Stupid what they had non professional drivers doing at times. BBC utterly liable. I much preferred top gear before Clarkson et al. Seemed a more grown up show.

Hope he is ok physically and mentally.
 
Won't just be what we can see either. Nerves in the facial area are very delicate and they don't take well to any bashing. I had two incidents in my late 20's involving both sides of my face . Not even talking about severing or clipping, mine were just 2 blunt trauma knocks and both took years to function nearly fully again. Feel for him
 
I switched on the TV news and there was what looked like an obituary. Glad it wasn't but this story seemed to pass me by.
 
He looks like Cillian Murphy in those photos.
He has clearly had is face smashed up. Looks like a full set of new gnashers. New nose.
Alive and well.

To still have wounds and tape 9 months later shows he must have really been through by the mixer.

The BBC have definitely down played the whole thing.. hope he is ok.
 
Bloody horrible isn't it. I had no idea it had happened until last night.

Also enjoyed his cricket programmes, was wondering when the next was going to be on.

That said, I've never watched top gear and didn't even realise he presented it. Seems a really good guy does Freddie
 
I know Freddie a bit, we go to the same gym and have trained together and he really is a very nice humble bloke. Not seen him for a year or so with working away but really shocked by those pics. Dear me.
