Those were his pledges. That's his signature at the bottom. He already has pledged them and then distanced himself from every single one of his own pledges.

I'd be happy with those pledges as a starting point particularly things like a fairer tax system, public ownership of essential services and energy and working with trade unions.

It's got nothing to do with being “left-wing”. It's about having the integrity, honesty, steadfastness and political will to stand by your principles and see them through, regardless of difficult times and unexpected events ahead. The test of a leader reflects his past as much as his present. He has to be accountable, transparent, and honest and prepared to admit publicly when he has made mistakes.​
 
What Labour Policies ? Nobody seems to answer this at all, I don't think they know.

Like earlier in the thread when I mentioned VAT on schools.
You could also try reading other things than FMTTM to find out what else (tax on non doms, taxing capital gains as income etc)

Ahh his pledges I see, but isn't it better to look at them in the run of play than get in, then change his mind.
I think he will give them a go, its good that the far left like them.

How on earth has he distanced himself from being effective opposition to the Tories? That is just ludicrous. Bang goes another one.

Because if you read the pledge it talks about uniting the party and that only counts as achieved if you class removing anyone that disagrees with you as uniting and not dividing and dismissing. The mass membership he talks about has seen steady decline. Also, effective opposition doesn't mean just agreeing with what they are doing but saying you would do it better.

If you read the policy they're basically just renaming non dom tax status.

VAT on private schools is already watered down from removing charitable status. Probably next on the U turn schedule.

Surely nobody genuinely thinks Reeves will actually double capital gains tax? Seriously?

And you are all those things special things and Jeremy Corbyn was too ?.

That's a high horse.

You had a guy as a hero Avatar for a few years who killed thousands of Palestinian Arabs Muslims and Irishmen and burnt down their homes and murdered them and their children. That was very upstanding, accountable and honest.
The British Govt carried on that war protecting their political friends. Who do you think does all the killing for American Oil and British Business since after WW2 ?.
I wouldn't exonerate the British Military Services for a kick off.

Rather than being abusive to you and falling out, I will put you on ignore.

Keep the insults to yourself before making personal insults about me and my character. If you understood why I used Field Marshall Montgomery as an avatar, you might be less inclined to be so deliberately aggressive and offensive.

Back to my previous comments: I suggest those are leadership qualities I expect from a politician I can trust. I didn't mention either me or Jeremy Corbyn in that context. Always read what's posted before you start insulting fellow posters.

To be fair, that same opinion regarding the October attacks has been expressed on this forum several times. Along with extensive cut & paste articles educating us all that Israel had it coming.

Am I right in thinking you used his avatar to ironically highlight the fact he is perceived as a hero despite the fact he represented all that was bad about colonial supremacy?
 
Good grief a right can of worms has been opened here I only mentioned Galloway was on the Radio yesterday saying he will win the Rochdale election . What's all this labour fighting about then ? I did see an article regarding Galloways win and Labour apparently the police were called because there was some fraudulent activity taking place with the votes regarding the Labour candidate and people being allowed to vote without ID in different polling stations . Ill try and find the news article later , I'm not sure how it all finished up but it was a real mess by all accounts.

Do many posters get 100 replies from their first threads when they join :)
