I didn't see the Sunak interview last night but generally, Andrew Neil is regarded as the best in the business isn't he?

I don’t know, is he?

I must say that just watching the HoC select committee in action shows that ’grilling’ somebody isn’t particularly difficult and Neil failed in his quest to to even get to question Boris Johnson before the last election.

What‘s his goal? To get to the truth about politicians intentions or make MP’s feel uncomfortable and on their guard (and so less truthful)?

What he does is try to exercise his own ego by playing the big bad bully asking ‘catch you out’ questions and it’s no big deal to me.

He is part of the problem.

pretty good at catching Johnson out - eg the 5B/5C question. And he scared Johnson so much he ran away and hid. He also made a good mini-speech as to how politicians should face the press on TV

Watched some last night, Kirsty Gallagher honestly thick as mince. Every question she was asked her answer was "Urgh, I can't be doing with it, erm, had enough, erm, I'm just sick of it, enough"..that was her analysis on everything, no reasoning, no nuance, no insight, no nothing. It was all essentially, I don't like X, I don't know why I don't like X, but I don't like it. Possibly the worst political commentator employed by a news programme ever. She came across as the person down the pub who has two shandies and becomes a total negative gobshite on every subject despite having zero actual knowledge about the majority of it, she's a complete energy vampire
