I work in a field that relies on guidance in the equalities and care act. Here is a considered reply, I hope. GB news coverage using health care professionals, lawyers, feminists, trans actvists, trans women in the debate around conflict around GRC reform v law, and safe guarding concerns has been exceptional.

Even if the are doing “exceptional things” the fact that it’s a turgid dog whistle channel for right wing loudmouths isn’t doing it any favours. You see it’s no good doing these things if nobody wants to watch it. And employing the likes of McVey, Rees Mogg Farage and Wooton does it no favours.

If nobody wanted to watch GB news I would have thought it would have ceased to exist by now.

Your turgid dog whistle is an opinion ... I think. I don't know what a dog whistle is. Are you posh and middle class? Amongst my working class nobody speaks like that.

The channel also has left wing presenters in Andrew Doyle, De Perio and a regular contributior in Paul Embery. I dont think any of them are particularly loud mouths.

Embery v Rees would make intersting TV discussing current strikes. I think Paul Emberry would disinfect Rees Mogg in a debate.

It’s a common enough phrase even for you. But don’t take my word for it. The simplest of research will tell you the head of GB News is desperate for change. In 2022 there were 17 breaches of the Broadcasting code following thousands of complaints - usually over promoting anti vax conspiracies, or obsessively attacking Meghan Markle. They remain on a blacklist of major advertisers I see. But I’ll take your word that it’s doing exceptional things. I won’t dip in myself. When I do it’s usually Dan Wooton working himself up into lather usually about vaccinations or worse that Steyn bloke. I can well do without that.

The remain on stop funding hate black list?

I did that google thing using GB news 17 breaches of the Broadcasting code. I looked at this article - https://www.theguardian.com/media/2023/jan/17/gb-news-rightwing-tv-channel

And read. Ofcom completed 28 investigations across the broadcasting sector last year, finding 17 breaches of the UK broadcasting code, and it currently has two cases open relating to GB News presenter Mark Steyn’s show, which has repeatedly raised doubts over Covid vaccine safety.

Were all the breaches via GB news, or across the broadcasting sector?

Paul Embery is red-brown (at best) and Andrew Doyle keeps saying he's left wing but never seems to hold any left wing opinions

Paul Embery is blue Labour. His views are steeped in traditional Labour roots. He is clearly far to the left of Keir Starmer who supports the involvement of private enterprise in the public sphere. He inhabits the world of traditional blue collar working class people with patriotic and communitarian values, and attachment to place and conmmunity.

Andrew Doyle consistently holds classic left wing Liberal views - Commitment to free speech. A commitment the left is abandoning.
 
The Facebook page is a cracking battlefield. The main issue with "GB News goes wrong" is that up to now they haven't been able to attract anyone of note however, tomorrow that changes! An exclusive interview with none other than Katie Price!

I don't care about Keir Starmer, I haven't mentioned him - you have. You mentioned him as a means to distract from the fact that Embery isn't the paragon of left wing virtue you asserted that he was.
 
I had forgotten about this channel launching. Switched the wrong way from sky news to bbc news and it came on. Watched a few minutes of the disgusting person that is Kelvin Makensie explaining why strikers are such horrid people.
Switched it off and will forget it was ever launched again.

Yes I went round to a distant relatives house recently and they had it on. I asked them why they were watching it and they said it was the only channel that was warning them of the migrant problem. I won’t be darkening their doors very often.
 
I was in a hotel the other day with hardly any channels on the TV but they had GB News, I stuck it on for a couple minutes just to see what bizarre topic they were discussing.

They had Dan Wooton, two right wing guests and a strange bloke in the middle of them who was suppose to be giving the ‘looney lefty’ view. Every time the lefty guest spoke Wooton was literally shouting over him ‘boring, boring’.

Was genuinely left in shock after that, so then I put Naked Attraction on for some easy viewing.
