Getting to Wembley by train

On the assumption that both Boro and Sunderland get to Wembley Sunderland fans will have had a 24 hour advantage in buying train tickets, the implication of which is obvious.

Problem is not so much the train but the tube ride after to Wembley i dont know how they could seperate fans on the tube

If it is Boro v Mackems LNER might need to consider extra trains on the 27th. There's still plenty of tickets available, but I'd suspect lots of those trains could be standing room only. The price will keep going up as well. I was looking at a return for one adult and one child and it's about £240. Very expensive indeed.

Edit: I remember travelling to Aberdeen a few years ago at the time of the Edinburgh Fringe. One train had been cancelled from Kings Cross so it was total chaos when I got on at Darlington. I couldn't even get into a carriage until the train left Edinburgh. It could be similar.

that is also in issue, however, I was thinking more along the lines of will there be any train tickets left for us, Thursday morning

This was a topic of conversation on here before. Are you sure it’s refundable? National Rail have guidance saying advanced tickets are only refundable in certain circumstances.
Not through Trainline, but yes through LNER.
I triple checked before booking.

Coming down from the NW and driving part of the way I will miss the main bulk of the unwashed. May be one or two doing the same as me, but the trains with the "Planet of the Apes" reboot will be on a different line.

the train times back are horrendous given the KO time and potential for ET and pens.

Trains are not guaranteed to be running.. we should sort a boro car share out!

What is the record number of busses to go to Wembley?

Save these threads until we’ve at least played the second leg. Given the logistics the sensible option would surely be a stopover the night after the game?

I would suspect that if it is a Boro V Sunlun' final then LNER will put on football specials.
Would they, could they, even allocate specific supporters trains?

Price will be the biggest issue really.
"Kerching" for LNER if this happens.

For what it's worth a friend of mine has booked from Doncaster and plans to drive there and leave the car.
Saved him £££'s apparently.

It is, but as it stands there's very little available and what is is at very high cost. Maybe there'll be a window when fans from losing semi finalists start to cancel bookings, but equally fans from the winning sides wpould also be booking up very quickly at the same time., Thatfully we booked the night before and night after ages ago.

I did think after my post I may have been a little flippant, but there are many other options should it be us v Makems at Wembley, similar to when folk stayed in Bristol for the League Cup Final.

There are yes but it's got to be close enough to make sense. Luton would be a good option......
