Glastonbury Line Up Out

Matter of taste. I think its excellent.

Ah I have just seen the "Slam Dunk" lineup. You"re taking the p1ss 😂.
I'll admit that this years SD line up is the worst i've known in 7 years of going but i'm still going for the day out with the lads. Music is all about taste like you say, if that glasto was on in the back garden i'd go for a walk out the front. I'm mid 30's, and into my pop punk and rock and usually Slam Dunk has 7/8 really good bands, this year there's only 4 i'm arsed about.

Libertines given the honour of kicking off the Festival on Friday morning. Vaccines and James have had that honour last two times Ive been.

Do you mean just the main stage or the whole line up?

There is some serious talent all over that festival as a whole.

Across the whole weekend and every stage there, the only acts i'd have any interest in watching are Jamie T, Scouting for girls, Mcfly and Jamie Webster.

Can we just agree music is personal - pointless having a go at each other’s taste
For those who haven’t been to Glasto the music is prob 50% of a wonderful experience.
There is more than enough for me (won’t be doing any of the headliners) that’s for sure
and some really annoying clashes.

Just realised - nothing at all on Pyramid for me on Saturday

You have a limited musical taste if you can only pick out those 4 acts ( inc McFly in it) from what is a stellar line up - still each one to his or her own I guess.

You can bet on the trope of people coming on to message boards and having a go at the Glastonbury line - up - usually from those who couldn't get a ticket. As you say its not just about the acts its the full on experience and vibe of what is a magical place. Wish I could go back this year - especially as NZ's two finest musical exports are performing.

I could say the same to you or anyone who said the same about Slam Dunk or Download? All about personal taste.

Nevermind the experience and magical place load of tosh, i've experienced plenty and that just doesn't interest me one bit, just because it does you, what difference does that make. People who go on about the experience, and the magic, say that because the line ups **** :ROFLMAO:

There are definitely other acts that would be in the bracket of each of those that I'd have thought you would also like.

The real beauty for me is the sheer variety, plus discovering new stuff.

For variety it's difficult to imagine anything more varied than The Damned following the Sugababes following Nick Mulvey on the same stage, for instance.

Yeah you'll be right 100% i haven't heard of like 95% of that line up so if i was going id do some research and have a look into some other bands but id never buy a ticket off that line up, but to contradict myself if i saw this years line up for SD i wouldn't go it is only because i go every year, its a single day, its fairly local and its an excuse for a **** up and to meet up with mates some i only see at SD. I just dont understand why some folk dont understand not liking the same music or when you don't feel the need to push an experience of the event? Odd behaviour. It's like going through someones kitchen cupboards and asking why you have frosties and not weetabix!

I keep meaning to add Jamie Webster to my gig alerts, so thanks for the nudge by the way. Liverpool has some serious talent emerging at the moment.

I don't mind him, he's got a couple of good songs but i think he ties himself to LFC a bit much (Don't blame him, i'd do the same he's a huge fan and the scouse pound is as good as any) but it must be hard to get away from the BOSS night reputation he's got now and just be known for non-LFC material.

Looking at the line up in detail - they have put Jamie Webster on at Leftfield which is a good choice for him just before Bragg

Seen him live last year. His solo gigs have no football songs at all. He’s a bit of a gobshite mind.
