Without knowing what you like, don't like and budget, you might as well just go on tripadvisor and look at the top 20 in boro and read reviews/ look at photos as you'll get far more out of that and a feel for what you're getting than everyone listing their favourite place.

Peppermill Bistro in Billingham followed by Cafe Lilli in Norton.

Peppermill has great food but Lilli the better vibe. That does depend on your age and taste though. I'm mid 60's and not into chains or the gimmicky stuff you find around Boro itself

Bay horse in hurworth will be too expensive. To be honest last time I went it was style over substance

Rio steakhouse is a good shout. Really nice and won’t break the budget

I think Vadah is a bit style over substance too mind, but it's certainly not bad.

I would say 15-22 medium range anything over higher. for mains

Muse is generally pretty good imo. Same people as the Bay Horse in Hurworth which is slightly more upmarket.
