Hackney gets international call up...

Interesting. How does he qualify for Scotland? Parent / grandparent I'd guess.

Represented England at u15.

Hopefully sticks with it, I'd go see him at hampden, lol.

I have to admit I've been pleasantry surprised by HH, he's looked mature beyond his years so far.

I didn't expect much from him to be honest, other than graft and enthusiasm (maybe I expected another Andy Summerbell), but he's got a lot, lot more than that to his game.

Which makes it even more odd that Wilder didn't have him anywhere near the first team squad.

I also wonder if his inclusion was driven by Carrick - I thought it was a very bold choice by Leo, given that he could be out again as quick he was in under the new manager. Was it the Preston manager who suggested that Carrick has been picking the team?

It’s been some turnaround in the space of a year for the lad, following the spitting incident, Carrick has been praising him in his presser as well.

Fair play to him.

Mark Summerbell ;)

He's having some month. A bit part player who Wilder didn't fancy to 1st choice and an U21 call up👌

I'd be sticking the lottery numbers on if I was him. Just shows how things can change for any footballer in a blink of an eye.

I imagine 6 weeks ago he was planning Saturday shopping trips with his missues and a possible league 1-2 loan in jan.

Great news for the lad, and well deserved recognition.

Whilst it would have been great to see him pull on an England shirt. I don't think that the England coaches have much time for youngsters at struggling second tier clubs.

Can't fault him for trying to progress his career, even if it involves playing for the swetty's.

Hats off to our friends north of the border acting quickly and getting him signed up. I presume that this is a recent decision and that he would not have been on their radar until a couple of weeks ago?
