Great news for him. I've been really impressed by him since he's come into the team. Always superb to see a young local lad doing well. Keep it up HH (y)

Clearly I'm getting well ahead of myself and playing for Scotland is still some achievement...

Yet... Does playing for the U21s rule him out of ever going back to being 'English'? '. Like Rice?

No u21 Is not the marker to confirm nationality so u21 Caps don’t prevent senior caps with other nations.

But he’s got no chance with England sadly so better off going to Scotland I wish him well
 
Btw rice was slightly different as he did play for the senior side 3 times in fact but only in friendlies…

Rice made three appearances for Ireland in friendlies. The midfielder’s final game for the Boys in Green was a man of the match performance against the United States at the Aviva Stadium in June of that year.

I wasn't jumping ahead to him playing for England. Just seems many U21s can change country.

To be honest if I was young and breaking through then most home nations are a better option. Especially now as Wales / Scotland etc can realistically qualify for tournaments due to extend qualification as in nations league and more teams per tournament.
